Hi help also please with this one; Using Firefox 3.0.5, when I click on a mailto link from a website I get outlook express launching even though in tools/options/applications I have set outlook as the default mail client. I have also checked Outlook Express and it is set NOT to be the default client. Outlook launches but then Outlook Express launches as well and wants to send the mail, but I have not got it configured so of course it wont work. Any pointers please. Cheers Friar

Hi guys, I wonder if someone could give me any advice on the folowing problem; I have been asked by a friend to try and recover data from a replaced hard drive. The drive was replaced before I got to see it because it was un accessable. Appently it became unaccessable after a windows update which was not installed, the machine was just switched off. The next time they switched the pc on it would not boot up. The machine was given to another party who has replaced the hard drive. I now have the drive. Using a USB 2.0 to IDE and SATA cable I have been able to acces the drive from my machine. Initially I was not able to read any information on the drive. I just received an error message (which I can now not remember what it said doh!) After doing some reasearch on the net I performed a "chkdsk /r" During the chkdsk there were numerous messages. Some related to orphaned files others related to indexs being re-calculated. I now have access to all the folders except the "My documents". When I try it says Access Denined". I have tried various security / permission settings but to no avail. I have tried taking it back to the original machine and using the cables plugged into that machine but got the same issue. The new hard drive does not have the same user names. The third party just generated a generic username. IS there anything else I could try? Cheers Friar

how about booking a double now. so long as you give them about a weeks notice they wont charge you if you cancel. you may get someone to share with lyou ike painless and sid are doing (boy would I NOT want to be the pillow between those two!)

Sorted. just need to double check by using the same cd i used last night (cant get it at the moment as the wife is in the front room having a massage!) but another cd (Will Young- I know, it was from my daughters room) played fine. I actually dont think I have used this pc (its the one I brought home from work when I left) to play music on since having it home. That setting change seemed to work.

My wife wanted to play a music cd in the computer last night. We use windows media player v11. The drive will work for reading data cd's ok Sound from the computer is fine (i.e game and windows "bings") When I play music cd's (and have tried 2 or 3) I get a noise on top of the music which sounds like scratchy, pulsating interfearence. Bit of a long shot, but anyone got any ideas?

sged, the ques were not that bad at the ticket booths we went in at. last year we all pilled into my 7 seven seater from the pub (made life easier that way). the car park is about 10 minutes (traffic willing) from the pub. we went in around 9:30 10ish if i remember correctly so it was not too busy. you can order on line in advance from the web site and it will save a euro or two. tickets go on sale around march if i also remember correctly. you have to buy a ticket for a designated day, they are not transferable. we usually take the saturday. it will be really great to meet you. you will be wearing a dogz polo shirt on the day....wont you?

thats right, similar principle, the plane (in the german planes) should be vertical, so in your example, to need to turn to the right to bring the indicator back to 12o'clock

tends to be maily german planes and will only work in the game when you are flying to waypoints, it is the next one that they are pointing towards. some allied planes have it also i believe

that does not make sence painless. the chap i spoke to took my booking striaght away, so she is obviously mis-informed. i would ring back and tell them i sent you......

you may have already sorted this out with snacko but the hat switch can be set to what ever you like. I have mine set for the following... the one top left of the joystick has Up - track i r center left-open canopy right-toggle seat down-toggle gunsight the big one in the center up-wide view left-zoom in to x degrees (sorry not sure what at time of posting) right-zoomed in a bit more down-gun sight view I am sure snacko will help you sort it. if timezones are a problem, i can be on ts this evening.

if you have the latest version of the drivers (sd6) you dont get a 3d model (which is a shame). You just get a table in the profile software. All you have to do is assign a key to a function in the game control panel and then assign that key to a button in the profile software. the x52 latest version also uses a .pr0 file extension. You can be as complicated as you want. I do use the 3 modes and the shift button opperated by the little finger button to give me 36 possible setting on the 3 toggle buttons. I also use the shift for some of the other functions. The only time I need my keyboard is for "Q" to bail out. Its well out of harms way.....

I use voice activated all the time, just have to watch mic sensitivity that's all, and not eat apples when flying gunner for jabo, or sandwiches, or slurp tea, he gets up set about in flight catering for some reason. glad to have you fly with us sir. Friar

Rubbish, a dog in need, no matter what the circumstances, should be able to call upon his mates for help and advice.

I use www.showmypc.com Its free and is simple to use with no software to install. Once on the home page you get 2 options, show my pc and view a pc. Obviously each person selects the correct option. The person who is opening up their pc will be asked to run a program (which does not stay on the pc). This will generate a key sequence. This key sequence is given to the person waiting to view your machine. Once used this key is disposed of so can not be used again. If anyone wants to use it with me to get a feel for it, just let me know. Another piece of software i have use is www.logmein.com This is again free but requires some software to be downloaded and installed. But it is useful if you access another pc on a regular basis, again if anyone wants to talk to me about this I will be glad to help. Cheers Friar.
