  1. wow FT...hope you dont make the mistake of building in the shed and then can not get it out!
  2. oh yes the statue of liberty - if you are not bothered about going actually up to it you can take the staton island ferry for free - not much to do when you get there except come back but if it is sunny its a nice way to spend 90 minutes or so and it gives great picture oportunities of the statue and tyhe new york sky line form the harbour my brother went round the imigration museum and he said that was really interesting
  3. Hi Dave, I went there with the wife for a long weekend for our twentith wedding anniversary. I guess you have booked flights and hotel but if not check out the Metro Hotel, which was just round the corner from the Empire State Building, has a roof top bar, is only about 10 stories.(was rated as punching above its weight star wise when we went) You also got breakfast included which a lot of New york hotels dont giive you. We booked through british airways as a flight and hotel package you can walk from ground zero to times square in a couple of hours make a google map and put pins in the places you want to visit, that helps find a hotel (if not done already, if you have it will still help) go into newark, less busy than jfk do the empire state building early in the day, less busy would recommend the city bus tours early in your stay as it then gives you an idea of where things are bloomindales and fifth avenue for shops go vist grand central station, chrysler building you can no go up it as it is a working offic / apparment block but the 30's architecture is great (and it is an in and out visit so wont bore the kids) if you hotel is within striking distance of a train station get the train from the airport as the roads do get packed, not good on a ticking meter and the fair was cheap see times square at night, it is busy 24/7 i will try and dig out the other stuff i had, i would definatly like to go back.....
  4. Yeh, another of the lost flock comes back to the fold! Welcome back will be good to have you in the air with us again.

  7. Right, I have now booked my train tickets. I will be arriving at Shoreham train station at 9:30 so should be at the airfield by 10:00 May I suggest a meeting time window of 10:00 - 10:30 at the Spitfire Bar?
  8. Ok Chaps, now that this is upon us, time to firm up some arrangements.. What time are we getting there? Where should we meet (the Spitfire Bar has been mentioned Your thoughts (I will be arriving by train into Shoreham-By-Sea train station and then either walking or getting the free shuttle.)
  9. First post updated. Thank you
  10. Salute guys Sisters Felicity and Sophia are being warmed up as we speak. Two very sophisticated young ladies for two sop.....well enjoy your day anyway! Best wishes Friar and the Priory
  11. as many as possible just donating $5 or $10 will go a long way.
  12. I notice from the funding bar that we have only reached 60% so far. The Priory needs the money for the Chablis Vintage repairs to the roof Can I ask that anyone that is able to donate, be it small or large please do so. Donations can be unsigned We have moved to a cheaper server so are trying to make all our donations work that bit harder. And as the little boy said weeing in the ocean "every little helps" Salute and thank you Edit: The 100% percent has now been reached. A very big thank you to all those that have contributed. Although the target has been reached and you still would like to contribute it is not too late. It is nice to know we would have a bit in reserve in case it was needed for any reason. Once again a big thank you.....now where is that wine list builders list......

  19. Am I able to mark threads that are of no interest to me from appearing in "new content" when I come to the forum? For instance the Elite Dangerous thread, it is not something I will be getting into (although it does look something quite special) and find it a pain to have to view the thread to stop it coming up when there is a new post. Salute Friar

  21. actually makes me want to fly it now
  22. I wanted a feel of "authenticity" so made a little attachment to my desk (which is also used as the main family pc so the same as FT and Jabo) to have the stick centered but could not get on with it so x52pro stick to the right and throttle to the left.
  23. I think we should arrange a day when we all agree to film ourselves during a particular co-op. Then edit them together to make the film, like what they did.
