I once had a really funny idea to start a new charity which trained blind dogs for the deaf. the dog would be trained to bark when they heard a noise, the only trouble is the dog would not be able to find the owner to let them know, and the owner would not be able to hear the dog barking. i still get the giggles picturing the scene....or perhaps its just me..

Many many thanks to my Blue team mates for their valient efforts in standing up to the red team last night. I am sorry but the hard fact is that your leader was not up to it on the night. The combination of poor pc performance (dont know if it was down to a poor connection as the pc has been fine before. I have never flown at that time on a saturday before or perhaps the number on line at the same time) and being out of my depth once the do-do's came into contact with the cooling system, led to Delta7 stepping in and doing a fine job. Thank you to him. I was also disapointed with my contribution which was pretty much worthless on the night. One minute I think that I am making progress with this sim, the next I'm the spare male genitals at a public marriage servce. Well done to the Red team, your leader (who ever it ended up being!) did a fine job. Great job again Glenn, another fine nights entertainment. I shall be speaking to the Train Drivers to find out why they all had a bright red light on top of their trains though! yes, i had a good look round the back the other day. the machine is 4 years old now, well i say that, its like Triggers broom, had it 30 years.....10 new handles and 25 new heads. i have upgraded sound cound, graphics twice and memory twice. When I originally bought it i think i never specified a network card or never dreamed that i would ever need one!

i am thinking of going for the free bt broadband upgrade. i am currently at 2.2mbs but with the upgrade can go to approx 6. for this i will need a router rather than the usb modem i have at the moment. i do not have a 10/100 network card. i have had a quick look in dabs.com and they range from dabs own at 3.97 to upwards of 80. i know they say you get what you pay for, but how much do i want and what should i pay for it?

At the weekend I shall be helping a friend add a new desktop pc to an existing wireless network. He already has a wireless router up and running. Should it be the case that the new pc just needs to be told the access passwords etc for it to sign on to the router and then through to the internet?

I have just been re-reading this thread. I was aware that Jim started a while ago and often speaks of it on line. The post which has drawn my attention is bbloke's about stopping zonealarm and avg. Question for BBloke: Is this safe for you only becaue of the way your hardware is configured? Allways mindful of trying to squeeze the last bit of performance out of my machine, I have asked about shuting anti virus down when playing within the dangerdogz before and was advised to leave them up. I am on broadband from BT using a standard usb BT modem. Any thoughts or guidance welcome.

i have playing with convergences also. except i have been bringing mine right in 150 or 200 for both. i did try the yum yum settings you sent me/posted (1000) but then i twigged that he flies VERY fast, so closing at far greater speed than i m able to achive. so getting back to all firing at one, hopefully if i can get to within convergence range, when i open up, "he should go bang!"

if you have weapon 1 and 2 to fire together, will the machine gun still work when the cannon is empty? if so it is something i might do as well....

I am trying to help a friend who bought a recon laptop off ebay. After not having it very long the thing will not boot. he haas shown it to another contact who thinks that the bios is corrupted. How do i go about correcting the bios to make it boot correctly. Any advise / pointers very welcome.

I am cleaning up an old win 98 laptop that used to belong to my Chairman. His son has some pictures on it that I need to get off before "cleaning it" so that i can bring it home for one of my daughters to use. My problem is that an extrenal cd writer I have can not be recognised and a memory stick wont work either. Does any one have any ideas as to the way forward

Hi, i have never used photshop and was wondering if it would be any use for a situation I have at work. the company I work for own lots of pubs. We are responsible for doing up the outside of the buildings. This involves re-painting. There is no corporate branding/colour scheme, each pub is done up on its own. The problem is the guys in charge of painting a pub sometimes are not sure what colour to use. Painting a pub the wrong colour could be expensive and bad for trade!. My question is would photshop be able to colour in brickwork etc so that they could get an impression of what the building would look like? I have tried it in Paint, but its was very labouious as working on a phot there is no defind area. Any advice / recommenations very welcome!
