  6. I am trying to help a friend who bought a recon laptop off ebay. After not having it very long the thing will not boot. he haas shown it to another contact who thinks that the bios is corrupted. How do i go about correcting the bios to make it boot correctly. Any advise / pointers very welcome.
  7. I am cleaning up an old win 98 laptop that used to belong to my Chairman. His son has some pictures on it that I need to get off before "cleaning it" so that i can bring it home for one of my daughters to use. My problem is that an extrenal cd writer I have can not be recognised and a memory stick wont work either. Does any one have any ideas as to the way forward
  8. Hi, i have never used photshop and was wondering if it would be any use for a situation I have at work. the company I work for own lots of pubs. We are responsible for doing up the outside of the buildings. This involves re-painting. There is no corporate branding/colour scheme, each pub is done up on its own. The problem is the guys in charge of painting a pub sometimes are not sure what colour to use. Painting a pub the wrong colour could be expensive and bad for trade!. My question is would photshop be able to colour in brickwork etc so that they could get an impression of what the building would look like? I have tried it in Paint, but its was very labouious as working on a phot there is no defind area. Any advice / recommenations very welcome!

  12. I'm In...i think....... will confirm tonight when i get home. Glenn, would you like me to administer the sides thread like i did for the hell divers? P.S agree wuth dave about start time. that would ideal for me too.
  13. sorry, i thought that in my dabblings in the past with aaa i have placed it up a mountain (doing a 633 squadron type valley run)? and that would then be ok for a carrier.
  14. had another idea last night.....if the ship aaa is too fierce, how about disabling it and placing a normal aaa unit on a deck somewhere, would that work?
  15. what would the missions be like without any aaa? defence would be dependant on air to air, is that a too stupid idea, have i been sampling the priory special reserve port a little too often? the times i take part in a mission, fly 3 or 4 mins to get there and bang! i find out just how under modeled the planes are with only 1 wing.
  16. I echo all that has been said Glenn. another great night, strangely plagued by tech problems all round!. Enforcer that may have been me (will have to examine the track to find out) as, amazingly, I did manage to take two down in quick succession over midway. I hope that readers do not think that I am boasting, and appologise unreservedly if someone else knows for a fact it was them, but getting two like (i think) that for me is quite a novelty! well done blue Well done to my fellow heroic and valient pilots.
  17. I would like to invite BBLOKE to fly for honerable Japanese Navy (Replacement for Jim)

  21. a couple of years ago i started building my own water rockets, which i believe are very popular in the schools in the u.s. and has a large internet community on the net. i was never able to build a succesful release mechanism that was water and air tight. some of the real experts can get them real high.

In my ignorance I thought that 800 x 600 would be worse than someone on a higher res. I have never pushed my res in an effort to get the best frame rates. Is this a correct assumption? I should post my graphic card detail at this point but i cant remember which exact card i have, i think it is a nvidia gforce fx5200? with 128mb

i am curious about the icon settings. i think that it might be fun trying it out one night on our own. it might make it easier to "sneak" up on someone. also perhaps make it a bit easier for those of us who seem to be bullit magnets to "hide" a little. Normal range for own side though to simulate radio comms of location. I do realise that this also may, for those of us with lower end graphic settings (i play at 800 x 600 32 bit) that some of the dots may be difficult to pick out. I would be interested in trying it as i said.
