I think that " its always someone else's job" because of apathy, people have thought that we have been ok therefore nothing needed to be done, and a lack of oversight from the whole squad. I am as guilty as anyone as I had thought that the quorum members would deal with squad issues and inform the wider group of any problems but with folk dropping out perhaps that isnt the case. Perhaps we need volunteers for specific areas, IMHO the minimum would be : a treasurer to ensure we were financially stable recruitment officer hosting/server admin. Im not saying the person in the post should have sole responsibility but act as an overseer and contact for issues

I am becoming very concerned over the state of the squad. First and crucial is finances to run our servers. There just isn't the contribution to support these. It is unfair to expect Reger to pay these and then hope to recoup this over the year, he should be paid up front. We need people to commit either by annual or monthly subscription. If we can spend £50 to £70 on a DC's aircraft surely we can pay for server. but the box nights are now on public servers so only used for events like p-38 campaign so don't know if it's fair to ask box users for same contribution. Secondly, squad numbers. I believe that we have around 10 active DC's users and 5 Box users, and I don't know how long Box will survive as interesting for remaining users as it is not squad coops but just meeting up on public servers. We have had these discussions before and have muddled through but I think it's crucial that we address these, numbers are not going to increase, people aren't joining in enough numbers to replace those that are dropping out, so we urgently need a get our finances under control and have a serious discussion and decision on the way forward for us to survive.

after a few frustrating missions , I claim 5 trucks, 1 howitzer and a share kill on a Bf109. Landed successfully at allied airbase

while BoX is dropping in numbers, I would like to keep one night dedicated to BoX ,either Tuesday or Sunday for the ones who still want to fly, I dont mind swopping one for the DCS if that suits the majority. I still dont think dcs is the answer, too many planes/map combinations and often different eras on same maps and no co-ops.

I think that people are just bored a bit with Box , As a squad we have been flying the SIM for over 20 years together and box does not have as many planes or theatres as the old il2 so lacks a bit of variety, the only good turnouts are for special events now DCS is the new shiny toy and interesting as it throws up new challenges but unless we get start having coop type missions then I can't see it being a long term solution. There is already a disparity on who has a particular plane and map so some communality will need to be agreed and I'm not sure some folk will want the expense of that just to keep flying. Having said that I will still attend both SIM nights as much as possible
