1. DDz Quorum Pooka Posted October 20, 2006 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks Chris, will put it in too. I was looking at AVG today and saw where I did get that Virus that one of the new guys sent thru MSN (not his fault) from Joint-Ops, don't recall who. It claims it deleted it. Blairgowrie
I couldn't host yesterday and Rog and I finally traced it to AVG 7.5. When I turned it off, I was then able to host. Neither of us can understand why AVG would block hosting. I have to agree with Shadow. The email scanner is very active and keeps popping up at the strangest times. I may try rolling AVG back to the earlier version if I can find it.
Waldo.Pepper
Hey BG! When you installed 7.5 (presumably over your previous version of AVG) -
BBloke
BG, I have the old version at 14mb on my hard drive I can send it your way if you wish. I hadn't installed it on my internet machine until this afternoon so I will test it later and maybe see if I can convince another to test from outside and post back here. Sorry to hear its responsible.
Blairgowrie
I think I will try a reinstall and see if that works. I also have Norton Ghost so I could roll back to 7.1 with any trouble. But thanks for the offer Chris.

Blairgowrie
Thanks Rog. I saw from your paw prints you got in ok. I did leave 7.5 turned on so the reinstall must have worked.
Blairgowrie
I hate to belabour the point but I tried sending out a 196mb file to another Danger Dogz via usendit. Bloody email scanner kept on popping up and I finally lost the connection to usendit when the file was half done. So I resent it after turning AVG off and the file went out slick as a weasel. Blairgowrie
Just wanted to see if AVG was the culprit BBloke. I don't think it is meant to behave like that although I may check their FAQs and see if I can find anything on it.
