Blairgowrie
I was able to pick up a t61P (http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-t61p/4507-3121_7-32553560.html) from some dude in Toronto for $400. The P series was the top of the line for Lenovo for a few years and is one sturdy laptop.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted July 2, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted July 2, 2011 Nice buy Jim! At work we have gone from IBM/Lenovo to Dell... there is no comparison in build quality
Blairgowrie
I am really impressed with it. It is lightning fast and this particular one has the fastest CPU they put in the T61's plus a 9 cell battery. The guy I bought it from was black and we met in a parking lot. I asked him where he got it and he said the firm he worked for were going to have it destroyed. I was a bit nervous about meeting him in a parking lot. 1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted July 2, 2011 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted July 2, 2011 That is a very nice laptop... especially the 7200RPM disk and the 1920 x 1200 screen resolution.

Last time I did a deal in a public place I received a cardboard box with a house-brick in it while the (white) guy grabbed the money and scarpered. I thought the brick was the final irony and so would he if I'd ever caught him! I'm glad it worked out well for you. Ross
Blairgowrie
I was a bit worried that my comment that he was black would be perceived as rascist. The only reason I did was that it just seemed to fit the circumstances.

Blairgowrie
Ok then. I am guilty of gross racism.
DD_Brando
Ok then. I am guilty of gross racism. No no, I wasn't picking you up on anything. A bad un's a bad un whatever he looks like. You're just guilty of gross stereotyping. Blame the media.
