World Growth Population Stats

The presentation lacks some data, and the a number of parameters are not specified. Still it is an interesting notion that the 20th century was a major development the in history of mankind. Seemingly trivial things such as dwarf wheat (which earned Borlaug his Nobel peace prize in1970) have made major parts of the world less horrible to live in. Penicillin was brought into widespread use in the late 40's to early 50's and by 1979 Smallpox was eradicated, the first of only two infectious diseases that have been removed from circulation within the population. Quite amazing really.

Additional, that is just an atrocious Swedish accent, I sincerely apologise on the behalf of my countrymen.

Addendum, the same century saw the invention of internet porn, airplanes and the word dude. How's that for human ingenuity.

The main part of the presentation just shows Lifespan to Income. That's all the data it is supposed to show, other than the size of the populations in the sizes of the circles. I'm sure he missed many other important events in history that were causes of the data shown. :icon_study: But I have no clue how he missed Dwarf Wheat? :laughing7:
