2. Administrators fruitbat Posted August 10, 2010 2. Administrators Posted August 10, 2010 As some of you may be aware, i've been helping with the harvest lately, hence my lack of flying time. However, due to the wonders of modern technology ie my phone, i've got some pics and vids of the action, which i thought i'd share with you guys. I guess for most of you this will be dull as dish water, but what the heck, lol. some vids, unloading on the move http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFsRJSleFGY from inside the cab, not so easy to vid and do this, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56lIlSpbWT4 some pics, some more pics, will add some more vids if/after someone replies, forum doesn't like it if post to many vids a photos in one go, fruitbat Quote
T_O_A_D Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 John Deere green! I'm not familiar withe the other machine, German made? I've got Cousins, were I Hunt that Farm 3000 acres, always interesting to watch. If it wasn't a 3 hour drive, I'd go help myself, that far away takes a bit of planning and cash to make the trip. I've thought about videoing some of my test drives, in the nicer Trucks I've worked on, but I work nights. Quote
2. Administrators fruitbat Posted August 10, 2010 Author 2. Administrators Posted August 10, 2010 yep, Claas is german, they make really good combines, probably a bit better than the John Deere combines, and getting more and more common over here. will take some pics of the inners of the combine next time i help service it, guess that might interest you a bit TOAD, in your line of work. 3000 acres is a really nice size, would be considered a big farm over here though, lol. Can't beat the John Deere tractors in my opinion. lets see if i can post more vids, combine at end of the row, last 10 secs is good, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKZGRDJNp_0 Inside one of the JD tractors, can see all the different controls in this one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-mtDTPTTsI some more pics, have to ask Jedipedia what this is, but i know i wasn't going to touch it, Quote
Jediteo Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Preliminary analyis suggests the specimen is an Agriope Aurantia, However it is not supposed to be native to the UK so it seems unlikely. Seems that is is an Agriope atleast. Took me a while to look through a few books. Biology and identification of species is not among my preferred subjects. Quote
2. Administrators fruitbat Posted August 10, 2010 Author 2. Administrators Posted August 10, 2010 Haha Jedi, twas only joking, but thanks for looking, i am kinda curious, as i do think its possible it isn't a native. It looks very unfamiliar to me, and i get to see lots of spiders climbing trees, which is why i took the pic. Big for a British spider too... couple more vids, another of the combine munching away, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmLMmb8c8qs and the view from inside the combine, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Og-HcLvvS0 Quote
T_O_A_D Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Around here that is known as a Common Garden Spider, see them all the time. Lovely find at night in the woods, and your face is in the middle of its web. Had one build a web from my Truck to the House just last week. I watched it hang on to the side as I hit 70 mph on the Interstate, it finally let go after several minutes. Quote
Cold_Gambler Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 It's a travesty!! That wheat is totally undermodelled! I'm an expert in 1940s UK wheat varieties and it's obvious that that field is INCORRECT! It completely destroys the immersion factor for me to see this ersatz wheat in the sim. I demand that Oleg immediately flagellate the person who designed the wheat sheaf model. If SoW:BoB is released with this wheat I will NOT buy the game. I would love to support Oleg but I will simply not buy the game if this error is not corrected! .... What'dya mean this isn't the Il2 1C board? Thanks for the pics. Lovely countryside. Quote
Sweper Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Thenks FB for sharing. Nice pics. Who needs a DSLR when we got mobile phones. Quote
Kimosabi Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Is Claas the same people that makes Jaas Gripen maybe? Fastest combine on earth? Quote
