Jediteo Posted September 29, 2009 Report Share Posted September 29, 2009 As some of you may know I have started experiencing connection difficulties ever since I moved back to england. I did not have these issues, even though it is the same room, same ISP. I sent them an email, and this is the reply I recieved : Hi Teodor, We do not exactly block / unblock certain ports. You are behind a NAT firewall that will only allow incoming connections which are related to an already established connection. This basically means that if some software on your computer initiates a connection then any related traffic coming back through our gateway will be allowed, but if for instance somebody tried to connect to your computer via a service such as FTP this would be blocked by our firewall. The only disadvantage from this that I can think of is that it will prevent you running most types of servers as the incoming connections would be blocked before they even reached your machine, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
