GreyKnight
Does indeed sound to me that during your PC's boot process, when it's detecting hard drives, it is indeed searching on the USB channel for disks. Check your BIOS settings to see if there's an option to somehow disable the scanning of devices on USB, during boot up. ... or wait for THE definitive answer from Rog. gec
there should also be a possibility to, momentarily with just a keystroke during BIOS boot or permanently in BIOS it self, disable the Dell screen. if u manage that, u can see at what step does BIOS stops
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted February 25, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted February 25, 2009 I would not put a USB drive through a hub unless it is a good quality powered one. Gec has a good idea, turn of the Full screen logo on boot if possible so you can see the post progress. I am not aware of any BIOS that allows an option to not iterate USB devices on post.. My Maxtor 650Gb remains plugged in at all times, and the only time I am aware of it's existence is when I open explorer and it has gone to sleep
