Tonar
Just thought I would share some photos from my weekend. 3 days of beer, wind, laughing, flying, camping, cussin, crashing and picking dirt out of my teeth at the 2006 Western Colorado Slope Challenge. DDz Quorum Share Posted May 8, 2006 Just thought I would share some photos from my weekend.3 days of beer, wind, laughing You didn't mention beans, or was it poorly fermented beer? Nice photos VT, amazing place to spend a weekend 'flying' quite a rush. Thankyou for posting them
Cold_Gambler
Sounds like fun... which (if any) was your plane?
Tonar
Sounds like fun... which (if any) was your plane? The green MIG-3 with the other two warbirds in the first photo and one of them wings in the swarm. I took 7 with me, ranging from a 8oz floater to a 65oz 98mph flying speed demon!! In the group photo I and my Dog Maya are on the right. I'm waiting for the really cool photos to show up and hopefully a video of some formation flying me and another guy were doing at "Very High Speeds!!" I am still shaking. Cold_Gambler
Sweet- in that first picture it's nigh impossible to tell that they're scale models.
Tonar
Mostly Scale, the wings are changed a bit for flight performance un-powered. and the fuses are shaped by hand. here are some close ups of the 2 P-51's and my Mig-3.

Redeye
Man, that looks like a blast! A bit spendy though I would guess......
Tonar
Man, that looks like a blast!A bit spendy though I would guess...... No more than most hobbies, You can get "started" @ around $200 (Combat wing, TX, & RX). But like eveything you always want more. After about 15 years of flying I have built up quite a collection. not as much as some. I think I spend about $300-$500 a year. Better than spending it on Crack.
DZ9
What do you use for bullets? .22?? Hold on, do you actually have guns on those things? no way! is that no a bit dangerous? cracking scenery mate
Tonar
No guns, Contact Combat. and only with the Chevron Wings. If you knock a guy out of the sky, you have to do a roll or a loop the make the kill official. they are made of EPP foam(most of them) the High performance birds are carbon fiber and Fibergalss. The warbirds are not usually combating, but durring formation flying they make contact sometimes EG:
DZ9
cool! Taran-tastic
Redeye
3-500 a year doesn't sound too bad at all. I'm quite certain I spend more than that on guitars and computer stuff..... Not to mention the crack!
