Air Games Championship Is Here Again... And You're Invited!

Recommended Posts

The Air Games Championship, or AGC, is an online league where virtual pilots select 5 planes in which to compete with in 4 seperate challenges each week for a total of 8 weeks.  Pilots earn scores in each event and these scores are continuosly tallied throughout the season.  At the end of the 8 week season the pilot with the most points is crowned AGC Champion, has is name added to the Hall Of Champions, is given a certificate of victory which can be printed out and framed, and most importantly, the right to brag (forever and ever).
In addition to league points, pilots earn currency (called PEP) in each event that can be used to buy different/better planes to use in each event.

The events are as follows:

Racing - generally speaking, it's a 5 lap race around a track.  The track changes each week but is posted the weekend before an event for download and practice.  Scoring is determined by placement in the race (1st= 10 points, 2nd= 9, etc).

Shooting - A timed event in which all pilots simutaneously hunt and kill AI planes.  Highest score when time runs out wins the event.  Placement is based entirely on score.

1v1 - A round-robin event where each combatant competes in a 1 on 1 dogfight with a 10 minute time limit.  Scoring is based on best record for the evening on down.

Attrition Dogfight - Pilots have access to every plane in their personal hangar to fight in a cut-throat every-man-for-himself furball event where the last man standing wins.  Each pilot thereafter is paid on how long they lasted [ie. 1st man to run out of planes takes last, last man flying takes 1st].

Each event is ran once a week, 2 on each event night.  Currently Monday= Shooting and 1v1, Thursday= Racing, Attrition.

More info can be found at the AGC Home Page.

Any and all Dangerdogz with time and ability are hereby invited to join us for the upcoming season (AGC #4) and be the first Squad, outside of the Spartans, to ever hold the title . While it is an every-man-for-himself environment (no team play), it will still be bragging rights if you can bring it home. Do not concern yourself with the details, it sounds more complicated than it is and everyone is happy to help with anything along the way (plane choice, event advice, rules, etc.).

The AGC is ran on the latest IL-2 stock version, so this event will be on 4.13

The new season begins July 6th at 9:30 PM EST.

Currently there is room for 3 pilots.  Even if only 1 DD can make it, we will accept you in to the event completely and treat you equally to all contestants (even better if you want).

Feel free to post any questions below.

I'll save the details until after the headcount.  Anyways, thanks for climbing on board, Sid.  Your name will look great immortalized in the Hall Of Champions.

Bishop, so you are using EST not EDT ?

EST is currently 6 hours behind our BST ( 5 hours behind GMT) , so that puts the start time at 3.30am BST ?

Much as I would love to take part in this I don't think I could manage it. : (

Dam !

Painless.

Yea, I know that's the biggest issue here.  I figured anyone outside of North America will be pushed too far out of the time slot to be able to compete.  The main issue we have with switching time is one of our veterans is 3 hours behind the rest of us, so while we are starting at 9:30, it's 6:30 for him and he's running in the door from work to jump on.

Perhaps we can attempt a marathon run once a week on the weekend at some point.

The AGC really is a lot of fun and I really do thing it's worth he lack of sleep (for you, not me). ;)

I just checked Google and it appears Redditch (and Hampshire) are 5 hours ahead of us.  So that puts start time at 2:30 AM.  Is that any better?  Think you can make that?  Pull a little split shift on your sleep and you're good  :D

jk

Sid, you sure you can make that?

That's right, if you are using 9.30pm EDT then the start time would be 2.30 am BST for us.

At that time in the morning I think I would "lawn dart" quite a lot ! Lol
