  1. Double checking, you still in Sid? The event starts tomorrow. Deadline for plane picks is supposed to be midnight tonight PST (7 am July 6 your time) If anybody else can come, hit up our site and register ASAP. Thanks either way guys.
  2. I just checked Google and it appears Redditch (and Hampshire) are 5 hours ahead of us. So that puts start time at 2:30 AM. Is that any better? Think you can make that? Pull a little split shift on your sleep and you're good jk Sid, you sure you can make that?
  3. Yea, I know that's the biggest issue here. I figured anyone outside of North America will be pushed too far out of the time slot to be able to compete. The main issue we have with switching time is one of our veterans is 3 hours behind the rest of us, so while we are starting at 9:30, it's 6:30 for him and he's running in the door from work to jump on. Perhaps we can attempt a marathon run once a week on the weekend at some point. The AGC really is a lot of fun and I really do thing it's worth he lack of sleep (for you, not me).
  4. I'll save the details until after the headcount. Anyways, thanks for climbing on board, Sid. Your name will look great immortalized in the Hall Of Champions. "Sid the Git" (per your choice of screen name on our forums)
  5. The Air Games Championship, or AGC, is an online league where virtual pilots select 5 planes in which to compete with in 4 seperate challenges each week for a total of 8 weeks. Pilots earn scores in each event and these scores are continuosly tallied throughout the season. At the end of the 8 week season the pilot with the most points is crowned AGC Champion, has is name added to the Hall Of Champions, is given a certificate of victory which can be printed out and framed, and most importantly, the right to brag (forever and ever). In addition to league points, pilots earn currency (called PEP) in each event that can be used to buy different/better planes to use in each event. The events are as follows: Racing - generally speaking, it's a 5 lap race around a track. The track changes each week but is posted the weekend before an event for download and practice. Scoring is determined by placement in the race (1st= 10 points, 2nd= 9, etc). Shooting - A timed event in which all pilots simutaneously hunt and kill AI planes. Highest score when time runs out wins the event. Placement is based entirely on score. 1v1 - A round-robin event where each combatant competes in a 1 on 1 dogfight with a 10 minute time limit. Scoring is based on best record for the evening on down. Attrition Dogfight - Pilots have access to every plane in their personal hangar to fight in a cut-throat every-man-for-himself furball event where the last man standing wins. Each pilot thereafter is paid on how long they lasted [ie. 1st man to run out of planes takes last, last man flying takes 1st]. Each event is ran once a week, 2 on each event night. Currently Monday= Shooting and 1v1, Thursday= Racing, Attrition. More info can be found at the AGC Home Page. Any and all Dangerdogz with time and ability are hereby invited to join us for the upcoming season (AGC #4) and be the first Squad, outside of the Spartans, to ever hold the title . While it is an every-man-for-himself environment (no team play), it will still be bragging rights if you can bring it home. Do not concern yourself with the details, it sounds more complicated than it is and everyone is happy to help with anything along the way (plane choice, event advice, rules, etc.). The AGC is ran on the latest IL-2 stock version, so this event will be on 4.13 The new season begins July 6th at 9:30 PM EST. Currently there is room for 3 pilots. Even if only 1 DD can make it, we will accept you in to the event completely and treat you equally to all contestants (even better if you want). Feel free to post any questions below. AGC Homepage
  6. Thank you, but I'd guess pasting is disabled for me? Every time I hit CTRL V or select the paste button above (or even R click) the cursor flickers and nothing comes out. I then hand-typed the address and as soon as the system recognized it was a link, it popped up a link box but both the OK and CANCEL options were grayed out. It happened in a previous visit of mine as well with a different link. I do appreciate you posting the link above. If I work up the energy to type it all back up on a new post, would you then be so kind as to slap it in under my post so people can visit?
  7. Well, I spent the time to type out an entire description of the format, explanation, and invite only to have some link window pop up that would not let me add a link or cancel/close the window and the result was a loss of my entire page. I don't have the will to repeat the process at this time and I can't seem to even add a link to the AGC page that explains everything. /shrug we tried, right?
  8. right now everyone is taking a little break before the AGC starts back up in little over a week. We will definitely make the dogfight happen, but currently I have no guesstimate on when. Speaking of the AGC, you guys should volunteer a pilot or 2 (or 3... but not 4) to represent DD in the next AGC. 8 weeks, 4 types of events, custom plane choices with virtual cash to buy new ones. It would not be us vs you, but rather every man for themselves. DD would get the bragging rights of being the first squad outside of the Spartans to ever take the title though... if you can. If you have any brave pilot(s) with time [being the factor] to spare, we'll fill in the details and offer any help along the way. It's a great time and every pilot to ever compete has improved their flying abilities throughout the season. We race, we shoot, we furball and this season adds a new 1v1 event so it's a rush, to say the least. Red Rover Red Rover, send a Dangerdog over!
  9. Great job guys. You took it to us again. Thanks for the good showing. A special thanks to FT for lending a hand and taking a beating with us. Outstanding opening attack, gentleman. While I didn't get to see your initial strike, I did see the aftermath upon my return home. Quite impressive.
  10. 4.13 thanks (I forgot to mention that)
  11. OK. I have the map prepared and available for download from our File Library. I tried to paste the address here but apparently that's not an option for me. Perhaps Ambassador Sid will grab it and bring it over. It's Called "Fury Of The Fleet". It is another attrition so last team standing wins (score no county... except for personal bragging rights). There is a land base with each of the following planes: P-40M x 6 P-38J x 6 SBD-5 x 6 Tomahawk IIb x 6 A6M3 x 6 BN52 x 6 Corsair IV x 6 F6F-5 x 6 F4F-4 x 6 B-24 x 3 In addition to that, there is a mobile aircraft carrier with an additional (20) A6M2s and (10) BN52 on each side. Kill the ship and you kill the enemies reinforcements. It is a Fog Of War map so again ships count as radar. Sinking enemy ships blinds your enemy. While this may seem like a lot of planes, it's less than 1/2 of the amount of our last battle. Note: There are 2 additional carriers (1 red, 1 blue) in the far corners of the map. They are strictly for spectators and can only spawn CW-21s with no ammo. If you have any questions or have any issues, let me know. Otherwise, we'll see you Sunday!
  12. You guys want the same map, or a new map?
  13. Do we have a date, or is the verdict still out?
  14. Sorry for the delay. It seems this Sunday won't work for us, but how about the following Sunday? (6/14) We'll squeeze on at 5PM, our time (EST) If it helps to figure it out, it is currently 10:46 AM here
  15. sounds good to me. Let me check with the boys and see what they think.
  16. Unfortunately, that is too early for us with more than 1/2 of our crew still at work around that time. Also, we typically run a league during the week (a brilliant league I must say, most modestly, of which you gentleman should send some representatives for next go-round) . Perhaps we could show up near the end of your coop evening and play with your night owls...
  17. So what's a good day/date for you guys for another brush up?
  18. That was a blast guys! I appreciate many of you staying up so late so we could make it happen. I look forward to future engagements. We will aim for an earlier start time next round. S!
  19. I'm at work right now, but I'll find time in the next few days to get the map to you guys so you can check it out and get a feel for it. Both bases have the same plane selection and amount. The planes are DF spawn, so when you choose one, you spawn in an actual plane already on the runway. If they are destroyed by attack, the exact planes hit get auto-deleted from your inventory. So guarding your hangars is #1. The game ends when one team has no more planes to spawn into. In addition, there are naval ships and a few AI scouts as well. The Naval ships act as spotters so when an enemy is in range of one (range is dependent on ship size), that plane will show up on everyone's map. Sinking the ships blinds your opponent. Same goes for the scout planes. It's a lot of fun and action packed with a little something for every kind of pilot (bombing, torpedo, dogfight, intercept, etc.) This will be the biggest match we've had on it though. I'm looking forward to it.
  20. We would be honored to join you in the near future for some of your weekday flight nights, and I appreciate the offer. On Monday and Thursday nights we run/compete in a league. This week brings the end of our current league though, which will free us up for a bit (until the next one begins) during the week. If it works for you guys, lets plan for a base raid next Sunday (5/31). That will give us a chance to get HSFX installed and working and a chance for you guys to work out who among you will get all the glory of defeating us at our own game. We play EST time (-4 GMT) normally, so later for you is better for us. We're open to compromise though, always. Decide what time works for you, and let me know. Thanks again
  21. I can't quote and reply each response so let me blanket reply. Thank you for the invites to your site, as well as the other games and thank you for the quick and lively responses. As far as the mission type, we can definitely rotate, but a favorite of ours is Base Raid. To explain as simply as possible, it's a war of attrition on a dogfight map with 2 bases; an assortment of planes including bombers and a few AI Defenses. Each base has a limited amount of planes, which are parked on the runway for the whole world to see (and destroy). Both sides attack each other and each others bases until one of the teams no longer has spawnable planes. It takes some teamwork to balance offense and defense as well as escorting your own bombers in. It's a lot of fun and easier to understand once you see it. We can also do co-op missions with some red vs blue action if you'd like. we use Mumble for voice comms so we can meet up between missions on say your TS, and then we'll disappear on to our servers, OR we have separate channels on our Mumble servers if you guys want to DL Mumble. It's free, it's amazing and it's easy (we gave up TS for it long ago, I recommend you guys check it out) Mumble: www.mumble.com Anyways, it sounds like your only issue is going to be picking your pilots. I'm excited to go back and spread the word that we found a group to kick our tales in. Who can I speak to directly via email about setting this up?
  22. Hello Dangerdogz. My name is Bishop and I come on behalf of the 191st Spartans. We are a North American 1946 squad and we're looking for a small dust up with another friendly squad. We are 5 strong and would prefer, if possible, to keep the tangle somewhere in the 4v4 or 5v5 range. Time and day is negotiable. We fly 4.12.2 stock but are willing to play HSFX if you guys prefer. If you'd be up for a friendly rumble and want to discuss the details, post below, PM me or visit our site and post. Spartans: http://spartans191.guildlaunch.com Thanks for your time, guys. I hope to hear from you.
