Still a work in progress but almost there..... Changed some colours, found a way to get the D Day stripes without making them, fiddling around with metal colours and reflectivity...a learning curve indeed. P51D is a popular aircraft and is pretty well covered with skins but if anyone has a request I will crack on with it. Shiny/dirty, silver/green/combination, nose colours etc., all good practice This official template is one of the best.

Chaps/Meine Herren If you are looking for an airfield that can land and allow enough room for a take off run for the Ar234 and Me262 on the Bodenplatt map, try these airfields in 'Quick mission builder'. If you find any others please post name and map square in this thread. See this thread https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/79119-airfields-for-jets/ Rheine 0628 Hopsten 0529 Hesepe 0431 Twente 0624 Achmer 0531 Munster 0930 Vorden 0432 If you air start on the map try landing first and then take off - I haven't selected an air start with the Rocket assist packs attached yet so I'm not sure if they stay on. Try the drogue chute on the Ar234, it works a treat....although....once used, that's it. Can't do circuits and bumps with one drogue....Alternatively, select a ground start for your mission and maybe it will place you on one of these airfields. Hint ALWAYS use Rocket assist on the Ar234 to take off, apparently that is what happened in ops. Select them in the 'Modifications' list. Activate by using the 'Rocket' key, hold down though, it isn't 'one press' like firing a rocket weapon. Once in the air, release the button and release them using the 'Jettison weapons' key. Cheerzen

This 109 E7 skin is a representation of the scheme worn by a 109 E3 of JG26 at the time of the Battle of France in 1940. A Git production using the official template.

A skin for the Ju88C-6 depicting a Ju88S-1 night fighter of I/KG 66 operating from Dedelsdorf in the winter of 1944/45. S-1s were equipped with the German 'Y-Gerat' (or Wotan) beam system used to direct individual fighters to an intercept of enemy bombers. The aircraft had a fake glazed nose painted on in the hope of confusing the enemy into thinking it was a bomber not a fighter....sneaky beakies!! A Git production using the official template.

Lol, looking at the flying piccie....the pilot looks very small....reminds me of the phrase..."you can teach MONKEYS to fly better than that....!!" Looks like they are using the PG Tips monkey now

Pleased to say that this very very useful programme is working great. Mossie dials added and WW1 aircraft included now too. Temperature gauges are next to be added in the future. Thoroughly recommend this if you have the space for it. -

Wow....fun or what!! Friar's Mossie Mission to destroy the tunnel entrance worked a treat....it is a treat. Well done mate!! Tried it on my own as a singleton. Take off and low level run 100ft, few trees excepted, all the way. Max engine settings (3000 rpm 23 boost on last bit) equalled @ 310 mph so very exciting. Most flak guns were above me and didn't lower to engage, down amongst the trees along the river. Got to target. popped up to clear the buildings and caught some rounds in the engines but could carry on. Dropped 2 x 500 lbs and boom..... Thanks Col On my list of coops 👍

I am thinking that the convergence setting sets them all at the same distance. Thing is though on the Dolphin the upper wing guns don't fire at the same place as the other guns so you wouldn't get all 6 firing at the same target. In game, firing 'All guns' together means that ammo is being wasted as the guns in Weapon groups 1 and 2 are aiming at a different aim point to those in Group 3.... However....a 410 would be a huge plane shredder if all aimed at the same spot....
-
At last....found out what it does!! For ages I didn't think it had a use but it does. So far I believe it's only on the Sopwith Dolphin. Standard setup for the Dolphin is 2 x Vickers machine guns firing through the propeller. In it's list of modifications you can add 2 x Lewis guns on the lower wing and 2 x Lewis guns on the upper wing. These are mapped, in order, to Weapon group 1, 2 and 3. The upper wing guns are fixed angled upwards....allowing for less lead when aiming perhaps or maybe shooting bombers or Zeppelins from below? The lower wing guns can't be reloaded once the mags are empty. There is speculation on the GBS forum that the use of Weapon group 3 will allow for the segregation of gun groups on aircraft that have a lot of gun combinations eg. Henschel 129 and the Me410....be good if it does.

I have to admit with HUGE disappointment that I was wrong when I stated earlier that the AR234 Blitz bomber didn't have a drogue chute to slow it's landing down..... I got distracted and behaved like a screaming girlie when I was convinced the the new key command 'Drogue chute: release/drop' found after the recent update absolutely had to have been introduced because the Horsa and Waco gliders, which both had drogue chutes available for use and were deployed on Horsas at Pegasus Bridge, were going to be available for the Normandy map. Imagine my mixed feelings when I found out that the Ar234, one of my favourite aircraft (you all know that), DID have a drogue chute for use and is due to be released in game in the future. I have to conclude that the new key mapping is in fact for the Ar234 and not the impending release of gliders..... I should probably go and live on an island somewhere for a bit to get over my glider disappointment but if I did I would probably miss the Ar234 release. I will stick around for a bit and see.....just in case....
