Fen, I have stopped recruiting as I dont feel comfortable saying "fly with us its great" and then just 3 or 4 show up on GBS night. I used to encourage people to join in even a year ago. The thing about GBS is people know that its end of life, DCS on the other hand say lots of stuff coming in the next few years so that make people feel positive about DCS and negative about GBS. Do any of the Quorum members still fly GBS except for the fortnightly campaign? As for missions being repetitive yes they are as we can only shoot stuff down and bomb stuff. At least with DCS we could do carrier and inflight refuelling. Also would DCS players turn up on the old GBS nights? I think that the last point is important. I know that you find DCS a far more fulfilling sim but what about the others who have turned to DCS (I nearly said the Dark Side)

Also the forum is very quiet lately and we need more input from members on what they want to get out of the Dogz. To be honest I cant recommend our squad any more but if we were able to work out what we want to be and then turn up on squad nights then things would change.

What about Tuesdays? I cant make either Monday or Thursday.

What about swapping Sundays or Tuesdays for DCS, as the turnout is poor. We have to go on public severs that dont allow mods and its not the same as are old Coops.

I hate to even suggest this, but due to low numbers on GBS nights and general lack of interest in the GBS part of the Dogz forum is it worth keeping the GBS server going?

I have been thinking about my VR issues and I will give SteamVR a go on Tuesday instead of Open composite. I was looking forward to a GBS session and was a bit miffed that I couldnt take part. When I quitted, the game the Hanger screen was still showing and it was like it was trying to run 2 copies of the game. I got Bulldog sorted with the mods. The config file was read only!

5 years on.... same question. Is it real life that has led to the numbers falling off a cliff? If it isnt then maybe we need to replace GBS with DCS (if that is more popular). If it isnt then any way to improve things. As it stands I cant really recommend our squad if only 4 or 5 people turn up regularly. thoughts please

Unless the UK is going to do carriers properly they shouldnt bother. I dont think we have enough ships to escort 1 let alone 2 carriers and have ships left over to do other things.

I have decided to move the throttle from the collective to a rotary on my button box, as a couple of times I have shut the engine down by accident. The AH-64 has a throttle on the side consul so it makes some sort of sense. I am slowly getting use to the Apache and feel that I should now move on to navigating and blowing stuff up.

Welcome, we will be flying tomorrow evening and you are welcome to join us. We fly with mods enabled so we can use our low vis icons and have no enemy planes show on the map. I am sure that someone will be along to give TS and server details.

The replacement damper is now installed and is working nicely. the only thing is the force trim button has gone missing so I will have to investigate tomorrow or later this week. It does feel nice and smooth.

A very quick edit

There is a sticksion issue, and I have ordered a replacement damper. Should be here next week. Even with the issue it is an improvement on the throttle lever.
