  1. @Crash - Thanks for the head up - I have just gone through and deleted them all. The IP's were all Russian. I have also started going through and deleting all of the other historical Banned accounts (there are 6 pages full of them!)
  2. Good session last night chaps - thank you for testing the new Persian Gulf map, it seemed to work quite well. I will now try and flesh it out a bit for the next session.

    Guide To SAMs

For those of us that can not tell a Gecko from a Goa (plus I wanted a reference guide for mission building) I have converted a resource I found that explains all of the DCS SAM site equipment. Hope you find it useful.
  4. Guide to SAMs.docx View File For those of us that can not tell a Gecko from a Goa please find a resource I have put together from work done by UrPeaceKeeper who put a set of kneeboards together. I have taken his work and made it into a reference guide. Submitter Friar Submitted 08/17/2023 Category Documents

  7. So please use this thread for anything you would have previously said in the chat bar.
  8. Sorry - I thought I had posted this link that explains
  9. Use this thread to replace the old chat bar that used to be at the top of the forum.
  10. Not my work - copy and paste from the ED forum - but useful just the same. It was a good interview with the 4 guys. I watched the whole thing.
  11. PM me a list TBone and I will see what I can do. If you have any other ideas of things to add to freshen it up let me know. Friar
  12. The subject of the interview with Wags came up last night where I mentioned that the Chinook will be the next module released A bit late to the party. Interesting video. In case it helps people to find stuff, here is a timeline (more or less) to the DCS content: 15:00 It’s a game. Don’t want total fidelity. Bad guys can use it, too. 27:00 At this point can only look back in time for additional aircraft to model. So ground forces will be the new arena. 29:00 Ukrainian map too sensitive tight now as is Taiwan. 29:30 Dynamic campaign still in the works. 30:00 Chinook is next in the pipeline and coming soon. 34:00 For any aircraft, etc, must be able to demonstrate that the data for it came from legal publicly available documents. 36:00 How we decide what module to do next. 41:00 How do issues (“bugs”) get fixed? 43:00 The need to be very careful with documentation and what elements are included. 48:00 Viper radar lock loss bug. Also talk about real world failures and whether to include them in sim. 50:00 Hornet flight dynamics being reworked. 51:00 Full briefing room coming for the carrier. 52:00 Super Hornet not likely and reason why. 53:30 DCS sufficiently modeled that can be used to teach. DCS compared to real world military simulators. 57:00 Did Top Gun 2 help with sales? 58:00 Possibility of destructible trees. 59:00 Additional carrier crew coming soon. 1:00:00 Looking for air boss voice actor. 1:01:30 Wags’ game preferences. 1:02:40 Korea and Vietnam maps. Not now but will come. 1:05:00 Full DCS C-130 will eventually be made. 1:06:00 An entire logistics system is in the works and it’s application to the dynamic campaign. 1:07:00 Difference between DCS and real world experience in the cockpit. 1:12:00 Kola Peninsula map. Whole world map. 1:15:00 Eurofighter. Kiowa. 1:20:30 S-3 possible but far down the list. 1:43:30 Any chance of a Gripen or Rafale? The docs are the issue. 1:44:30 Possibility of FF Su-27, MiG-29, plus more on type and sources of information they can use.
  13. Any one not see the chat bar?
  14. Salute, With perhaps @BluBear in mind I have just read this thread on the ED forum; https://forum.dcs.world/topic/331817-my-performance-vr-and-mt-issues-were-solved-with-a-full-reinstall/#comment-5272524 A job for a rainy day perhaps with nothing else doing, but might help? Friar

    Hey Up

Salute Sir and thank you for stopping by the Dogz. We are indeed a group where having fun is our main priority. We do not require any formal training sessions or regular attendance. We all appreciate that real life gets in the way of the important stuff like flying. We run casual co-ops (often re-starts when people cock-up on take-off..."how long have we been doing this?....") as well as special events where we go a bit more serious. Many of our members are of a similar age and retired. We have members in the UK, Europe, North America and Canada. We fly GBS on Sundays and Tuesdays. DCS on Monday and Thursdays as regular dates. Some times you will find people playing Friday or Saturdays as well. We use TEAMSPEAK for our coms, I will PM you the server name and password. I will be on tonight playing DCS if you just wanted to drop in and say Hi to test. There will be GBS session tomorrow with guys coming on line from about 19:30/20:00. The Tuesday session starts with Flying Circus if WW1 floats your boat. WWII co-ops will start around 20:15/20:30 and will go on till about 22:00 I am unavailable tomorrow (Mother-in-law birthday) but there should be a good session but I look forward to speaking with you soon. Welcome to the pound and I hope you have a lot of fun with us (be warned some of the banter on Teamspeak can be quite odd at times!) Cheers Friar
  21. Update 21/07 I have just uploaded and put live a new version of the map called Persian Gulf Server. I have removed a number of target installations and numerous missile sites in an effort to address the the FPS issues people have been having. I have also set the civilian traffic to low in the mission file as I think the level in the mission editor is transferred and mine was high? (could be wrong) If this does not help with any improvements I may remove the populated airfield script to see if that is the main problem or if it the map in general being too "busy". Please let me know what you find it like on the map. It seems it can be a bit shaky when you first load in, but does settle down? Is that what you are finding? Happy to make further changes if required.
  22. @B16Enk Hey Roger - hope all is well with you and the family. Perhaps we can get you flying DCS with us (or the American / Canadian group) I am loving the Apache at the moment
  23. Salute I have just started working on a Normandy map for the server (I have downloaded one I found already in our set on our server and am working on that). I am looking to add some tank action (as I only have the Spitfire, but do have the WWII assets pack). When testing I found I had lost the tank / ground unit sounds again and after checking found this to be due to the recent Bronco update re-setting the file names (also I have added the Black Hawk free mod to my set which can cause the issue as well). So if you have updated the Bronco mod and want tank engine sounds you will need to re-apply the fix myself and Sid worked out. You can find it here:-
  24. Salute Update: 19/07 Added AWACs Added fuel tankers Reduced airfield planes (slots still available) to assist FPS e.g. F16 2 planes shown when spawned in but 4 available to pick.
