thanks mate -I have this book too and while excellent- I found it a bit like reading a technical manual and a bit dry. Lots of good quotes from fighter pilots tho. andy bushes articles baisically takes this book and applies it to how sims work

I think your a bit too modest mate these articles give you the basic building blocks to help you understand combat dynamics and how they appear in a sim and what you should be trying to do in certain situations. Some of his recommendations do not applyas he recommends using external views to aid situational awareness and most of us fly internally and with track ir but the basics are all very useful.

The last thread papa_K posted is how aircraft have developed from WW2 in capability - check out the links - I found them thought provoking. Im not sure- Id hate to just dump il2fb -I have the other Battle of britain that uses 6DOF and I couldnt really devote the time to get into it due to the hours I spend on this game. I really like the balance in the current game , and the plane choice. Ihave hardly touched the surface of all the add-on campaigns I have. So I will wait for feedback and look at my system specs- I cant afford to upgrade to a higher spec machine for at least another year. The killer will be how the on-line community moves- if IL2fb is not supported by good servers like warclouds then I will be forced to move. I hope the Dogz will continue to support il2fb for a while and continue to use it on squad nights- I feel it will be a while before we have the choice of campaigns we currently have for BOB

its here - woo-hoo doesnt do it justice- very nice - BIG and BRIGHT will need to calibrate properly but no dead pixels and very sweet

thanks for your hard work mate- sounds really good. the only thing we will need to be careful is map size. If you have a large map and limited numbers then it is hard for people to find each other - ether to team up with or to fight - not a big problem but just a wee point worth considering I think.
