  1. Ooops. I seem to have bumped that thread.....
  2. Wow. What a treat When in Dublin the back end of last year I sampled Bushmills 'Millenium'. mmmm, and at £30 a glass I made my one glassful last...! 'a hint of whip' Bloody hell Jim, we can't let you get taken anywhere can we!
  3. This is a fun mission. So far I have taken out most of the AA (first task otherwise I end up leaking and falling apart!) and then destroyed 95+% of both rows of AC at either end of the strip. Took out a lot of the other AC at the back of the strip amongst the hangars, At least one convoy now extinct. Weapon of choice? I tried the Mosquito, cannons were pretty good at strafing the lines of planes, and the AA. But the rocket armed Tempest has got to be the one for this Can't wait to have another go!
  4. Very good! That guy needs a life, seriously the amount of effort he has put into that comic is impressive. Well written too!
  5. I've put them as a single zip here: http://www.dangerdogz.com/files/mission ... _3/dd3.zip The individual missions are there too, use the file browser page in http://dangerdogz.com/missions.html to access them
  6. Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like he was a real trooper, and 17yrs was a good innings. I lost a 13 yr old GSD last year to hip troubles aggravated by spinal arthritis, carrying her in to the vets was heartbreaking.
  7. Thanks for sharing that Glenn. Amazing story, and for it to come about in that manner Nice poster too
  8. A most impressive display there Jim. I bet getting that last on (you show off you !) was very satisfying especially with no elevators! A well deserved medal S!
  9. It's not quite clear from the above that 'Unfortunately..' applies only to the fish.
  10. Now that is original!! Darren, I'm not sure about the fine rudder control, I for one never really got on with it just as i never got on with the twisty either. Which is why I now use pedals. Major difference (apart from price) between the X45 and X52 is the X52 is a twisty again (there is no twist on the X45). I have always enjoyed FFB, and have never tried flying without it intentionally Minimising the gun and cannon effects (or just removing the specific ffb files) had a major effect on my accuracy. I'm still wildly in accurate but the barn door can at least be seen to wince now
  11. Hehehe. Not sure about hiding it from your other half! I have an X45 that is in a state of 'rest' pending me getting around to setting it up for my son. I used it in conjunction with my MSFFB2 stick, leaving the joystick part to one side of the monitor as a 'button bay'. The lead between the throttle and the Joystick may allow for it to be mounted on a board as you suggest, I'll have to measure it up to be sure. I didn't get on with the rocker personally, and ended up banding it and assigning flaps to it (banding is where you can create 3 bands: left side up assigned to 'F', centre assigned to 'Null' and right side up assigned to 'R'). The rotaries are amongst it's strong points, assigning those to trim is a doddle. If you are able to physically accommodate both sticks you then have the choice of twist rudder or the rocker
  12. Sorry Dave, my bad I wrote the account info down wrong  Sorted now in the other thread By the way, files up to 20Mb can easily be uploaded (one at a time at the moment) by going to the relevant section in the web pages. http://www.dangerdogz.com/screens.html They have changed today btw
  13. Welcome to the 7800 club Glenn. Amazing water effects aren't they! Sounds like you have done about all the testing needed, short of taking hold of the Joystick for a few hours I take it 1024 x 768 is either a personal preference or the limit of your monitor/LCD panel, as the card (7800GTX IIRC) coupled with the rest of your hardware will easily drive 1600 x 1200 :) Mind you, your movies are going to up a nothc or two too!
  14. Me?? Not me sir, I've had me nose stuck in a book: :study: LOL, np m8, my fave is :blob: really appeals to me for some reason! The K9admin account is a shared account that I may try to persuade Sloan or some one to pick up with me. I'd hate to be away and for there to be a problem on the board. So I guess I'll be asking for a volunteer soon!

    Joke

Three tortoises, Mick, Alan and Les, decide to go on a picnic. So Mick packs the picnic basket with beer and sandwiches. The trouble is the picnic site is ten miles away so it takes them ten days to get there. When they get there Mick unpacks the food and beer. "Ok Les Give me the bottle opener." "I didn't bring it," says Les. "I thought you packed it." Mick gets worried, he turns to Alan, "Did you bring the bottle opener??" Naturally Alan didn't bring it. So they're stuck ten miles from home without a bottle opener. Mick and Alan beg Les to go back for it, but he refuses as he says they will eat all the sandwiches. After two hours, and after they have sworn on their tortoise lives that they will not eat the sandwiches, he finally agrees. So Les sets off down the road at a steady pace. Twenty days pass and he still isn't back and Mick and Alan are starving, but a promise is a promise. Another five days and he still isn't back, but a promise is a promise. Finally they can't take it any longer so they take out a Sandwich each, and just as they are about to eat it, Les pops up from behind a rock and shouts........ "I KNEW IT!......I'M NOT F*CKING GOING!"
  16. Yes that is our monthly limit, next package up allowed 500Gb monthly but was an additional $60 per month @ $74.95!! Dedicated hosting, with 1500Gb starts @ $174 I'll have three of them then guv.....!! So the videos will have to be rationed sadly, I can see why sites have subscriptions and advertising to stay around.
  17. Hi Glenn. I saw no evidence of tearing, there was some artifact induced smearing on the sky that was static and to be expected. Running it at it's native resolution the quality was spot on, expanding it full screen was asking a lot. But then I'm like that! Bear in mind full screen would normally be viewed at the sort of distance on views television at, and as such it looked great Nice work, looking forward to seeing more of the same! Bandwidth holding up too, currently 869.90 Megabyte out of our total of 10,000 Megabyte
  18. Excellent Looked good full screen @ 1600 x 1200 too, compression was very good artifacts weren't distracting
  19. Uploaded and link is in this post Should be available @ 00:35 GMT/19:35 EST
  20. Link will be posted in the Joint Operations room, should restrict the 'advertising' a bit. Amongst the many tasks I have yet to complete is a protected area that we log into to download/upload files. Controlling this area to DD's/K9ers will help to preserve our bandwidth, our allotment is quite generous though. This movie could be downloaded 1500 times before we hit our limit
  21. Hmm...looks very tempting, I may have to re-install my Steam account....but only after it does the 26 Hour (not enough btw) a day upgrade
  22. Institutions, for some reason I am again reminded of my favourite long sleeved white coat. **must stop rocking now**
  23. I was looking for information like this not so long back, I ended up buying a Throttle Quad  I think there is a need for this, and as it's such a relatively cheap project it is well worth doing. Documented well here and with Photos of the stages it will be popular I think. Waldo's link would be the equivalent of the I-PAC2 board, 8 Axis and your design above uses 5. It would be fairly simple to add a throttle lever and a zoom rotary to this wouldn't it? As I am also a lapsed Mechanical Engineer (hence CAD/CAM) I can easily visualise and draw this for us.
  24. Pheww! Glad we agreed Mike I linked directly to the Hyperions that are suitable for your chipset, by all means follow Dave's link too. This will show you the two flavo(u)rs available and what the subtle differences are . In a nutshell the 5.04A version includes IDE drivers that are redundant in XP, whilst 5.07A does not include the IDE drivers. Generally it is best to go to the chipset manufacturer for drivers, as they are more likely to be updated than those from the mobo/pc vendor.
