Umm. This time travelling stuff.... Last week we in the UK were 5 hours ahead of EST, today we are now 6 hours ahead. Ergo if flying times remain the same, UK will be joining @ 9 (21:00) instead of 8 (20:00) At least it's only for a week.....

Dave, can we clarify the mission brief? I read it as one rocket release per sweep, however it could be one salvo (4 releases) per sweep. Did I read it correctly as one release per sweep?

I've been increasing my convergence steadily, I too started out at 200 before I decreased it (thinking it would help lol). My convergence is now at 600, and I think it still needs to go out as Dave suggested. The ground pounding mission demonstrated to me again that I need to increase it, when shooting at AA I saw that my rounds were striking at a distance greater than my convergence, ie the rounds were scattered and straddled the target. This showed me that I tend to open up further away than I thought, and that my accuracy wasn't actually that bad! By increasing as I have I discovered the added benefit of improved marksmanship!

It'll be a pleasure m8 Dave has offered the same too, we can't have our NA doggy friends left without their bones can we?

Glenmorangie....my favourite scotch, then there is Laphroaig which is a little more peaty. A wee drop of water helps smooth it out and brings out the taste more too, I used to think it was sacrilege to add water to a fine whisky....but I mellowed in that regard at least!

This is a fun mission. So far I have taken out most of the AA (first task otherwise I end up leaking and falling apart!) and then destroyed 95+% of both rows of AC at either end of the strip. Took out a lot of the other AC at the back of the strip amongst the hangars, At least one convoy now extinct. Weapon of choice? I tried the Mosquito, cannons were pretty good at strafing the lines of planes, and the AA. But the rocket armed Tempest has got to be the one for this Can't wait to have another go!

Very good! That guy needs a life, seriously the amount of effort he has put into that comic is impressive. Well written too!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like he was a real trooper, and 17yrs was a good innings. I lost a 13 yr old GSD last year to hip troubles aggravated by spinal arthritis, carrying her in to the vets was heartbreaking.

It's not quite clear from the above that 'Unfortunately..' applies only to the fish.

Now that is original!! Darren, I'm not sure about the fine rudder control, I for one never really got on with it just as i never got on with the twisty either. Which is why I now use pedals. Major difference (apart from price) between the X45 and X52 is the X52 is a twisty again (there is no twist on the X45). I have always enjoyed FFB, and have never tried flying without it intentionally Minimising the gun and cannon effects (or just removing the specific ffb files) had a major effect on my accuracy. I'm still wildly in accurate but the barn door can at least be seen to wince now

Hehehe. Not sure about hiding it from your other half! I have an X45 that is in a state of 'rest' pending me getting around to setting it up for my son. I used it in conjunction with my MSFFB2 stick, leaving the joystick part to one side of the monitor as a 'button bay'. The lead between the throttle and the Joystick may allow for it to be mounted on a board as you suggest, I'll have to measure it up to be sure. I didn't get on with the rocker personally, and ended up banding it and assigning flaps to it (banding is where you can create 3 bands: left side up assigned to 'F', centre assigned to 'Null' and right side up assigned to 'R'). The rotaries are amongst it's strong points, assigning those to trim is a doddle. If you are able to physically accommodate both sticks you then have the choice of twist rudder or the rocker
