  1. I think I agree, my Samsung at 200 is nearly as bright as I am!
  2. My Samsung S24B150 has 200cd/m2 spec for brightness.... " Brightness / Luminance Brightness as a specification is a measure of the brightest white the TFT can display, and is more accurately referred to as its luminance. Typically TFT’s are far too bright for comfortable use, and the On Screen Display (OSD) is used to turn the brightness setting down. Brightness is measure in cd/m2 (candella per metre squared). Note that the recommended brightness setting for a TFT screen in normal lighting conditions is 120 cd/m2. Default brightness of screens out of the box is regularly much higher so you need to consider whether the monitor controls afford you a decent adjustment range and the ability to reduce the luminance to a comfortable level based on your ambient lighting conditions. Different uses may require different brightness settings as well." So, lower is better in this case. Doesn't it have a reset to factory defaults setting/function?
  3. Lol!! (That does not explain where your nick came from then... so that arrived when you started trying FB?)
  4. Brilliant! But, where's the original?
  5. It does run nicely, the only 'issue' I find is that is feels as if looking around with TrackIR is not as smooth as it used to be... can't really call it micro stutters... dunno... Have not tried BOS yet... too occupied with IL2 and CloD ... Can't be bosthered ... ?
  6. Here's another thought: Our mission runs for three hours currently. Then it closes, and restarts, where the time will be forwarded to three hours later. Why not keep it running from dusk till dawn? Now that sub-missions are being launched every few minutes, there's always some action going on.... I will try and set this up on my test server... see whether it will be able to run that long (some 12 hours, 6am to 6pm)
  7. Arthur, the Ungine Heaven benchmark reports CPU speed incorrectly. I've got mine running at 4.3. Tried some of the settings in the video, but that failed, probably because I use a P8P67LE ...
  8. Check your email... sometimes you may find you've sent someone a picture... check the 'Sent Items' folder
  9. One can never have too many backups... Make 'm on different media. I am using a combo of NAS (well, external hard disk, only connected during backups), USB sticks, DVD ... Most recent is usually on the NAS Some interim backups on some of the USB sticks. DVD mostly to create 'archive backups', to be stored, and not touched again... until ... I am not keeping any administration of them, so whenever I need something, there's a chance I will have to spend some time looking for the correct stick / disk ...
  10. I tend to agree with ya Arthur... The packaging even contains a spare set of side mirrors! Never realised it was a brand new one, I thought it was a used one, as it cost only $39,95! So, no Duel scene on the bridge then... too bad. Though it saves me the trouble trying to get my hands on a 1/64th scale red 1974 Plymouth Valiant LOL!
  11. The final Internet purchase arrived today. And, well, it is a beauty! Now, do I really want to risk it, and change it into this thing? (I never expected it to be this nice, and detailed!) Should I really?
  12. What's up with the resolution here? 1920x1064? Normal would be 1920x1080 ... Edit: I see you ran it windowed, ie not in 'Full Screen' Here's what my system does: Asus "SYTRIX" GTX970 Yes, despite the warning, I got me one... I guess I wasn't really paying attention after my GTX580 lost a fan, and I needed something new. Can't say that it is stuttering though...
  13. Well, I dunno, it works fine, so far. Bit of trouble setting up multiple displays on it, but once I got the correct DVI cable hooked up... all is as it is supposed to be. What's so wrong with no research, buy twice? It does not look like much now, does it?
  14. Guys, this is a public area! The password is already out there, some good guys know it, let's prevent it from further spreading ...
  15. After installing them Chipset drivers, can we have a look see at a fresh 64bit DxDiag Report please?
  16. Okay, North Weald is a base now. Apart from the Blenheim, it's also got Hurricanes if you need cover, and the Tiger Moth if you need training Have Fun! Note: The base is outside of the 'Battle Area', I do not know what kind of consequences that could have ...
  17. Well, you are right about 36.02 being the latest version for your board, if indeed you have a bare P8P67... There's a lot of sub-types for the P8P67... that have later BIOS versions available. You 100% sure it's a plain P8P67? How to tell for sure? Download ASUS PC diagnostics, install it and run it... it's first screen will show the correct type and sub-type... (Only if you are unsure of the type, for sure!)
  18. Here's what I found after a first look: - From your DxDiag report: Line 67 in your report shows empty space past Video Accel: , where as mine states: Video Accel: ModeMPEG2_A ModeMPEG2_C ModeVC1_C ModeWMV9_C Not too sure why it is different, or how to fix that ... they look like installed video renders. I can only find the line being empty in existing reports, on systems where no video drivers have been installed... - There are later versions of your Bios (you are on 36.02, looks like latest is 38.01) I do not think it matters much, really can't remember ... lol
  19. My 4 years old GTX580 'TwinFozr' just became a 'UnoFozr' as I found out one of its fans stopped running. So, I decided to get creative: Issue is the big fan is connected to the Chassis fan connector, it only runs at 860 RPM. When running CloD, the Cards temparetures goes up to 98C, the speed of the remaining original fan goes up to 85% I should go look for a different connector, or try and find out how the 4 wires of the original fan should be connected to the 3 wires of the new fan ... Anyways, the thing is obviously in need of replacement... Ordered a 970 ... should work ... shouldn't it?
  20. The only thing I can think of, is missing or invalid chip set drivers. I got a quite similar board (P8P67 LE), and these are the ones I have installed: ************************************************************ * Product: Intel® Chipset Device Software * Release: Production Version * Version: 9.2.0.1015 * Target Products: Intel® 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family * 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family * Date: October 04 2010 ************************************************************ I downloaded those a while ago from here: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67/HelpDesk_Download/ (this is a direct link to P8P67 board, not sure which sub-version (Pro, Q or other) you are using, but do check! Let's do some old fashion trouble shooting: Post your DxDiag report, the 64bit one. (Start, Run, DxDiag.exe, press the 'Run 64Bit DxDiag' , press save all information, then upload or paste the DxDiag.txt file here)
  21. Thanks for the compliments Andy! And welcome here! Now that server of ours was never meant to be used by anybody outside our squad, its password got kinda out there, apperently ... lol (Are you member of the 615 squadron by any chance? I know they are actively using the server.) As it stands now, there's no problem you using the server, it's nice to see people are having a good time, and as long as your activities do not interfere with our groups activities, all is good. For now anyways, as everything I state here is as a member ...(I am not the boss around here, so things might change...) Your request sounds like a good idea, I see no problems implementing it, so... keep an eye out for the new base. Have Fun!
  22. Thanks for posting that!
