To me it sounds as if BoS is trying to access a site/address on the internet to do some checks - like your account/password - which somehow fires up Chrome. (Like if you just type http://dangerdogz.com in the search box and press enter, the default browser - in your case Chrome - will be started.) Now whether BoS is the culprit, or your Chrome? One tends to think the latter, as this is rather unique behavior Was there any address in the browsers tab? (Not looking for site content - there is none) If it continues, you could try this: If you go to chrome://settings then "Show Advanced Settings" there is a section for Downloads and a button for "Clear auto-opening settings" (Could still have a different cause)

So, thanks to BluBear's suggestions there's some more variation on the server: - Start Time now varies between 7 AM (CET) and Noon (GMT) . Rounded to the clock, so 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are the options. - The Map now varies between Summer, Autumn and Winter. - Weather like Wind and Cloud height (Well, to be honest that was already happening.) These items will be randomly recalculated/reset at every mission restart. Mind you, it still runs for 6 hours, so the end time is no longer at 18:00hrs. Due to the random starttime, it also kinda varies, between 14:00 and 18:00. Have added an extra warning in the Chat, at 15 minutes before mission end. That is so cool, now innit? Thanks Chris!!

It will have to be open, we cannot offer any real stuff for/from BOx can we? We do not have anything ready ... I took a look at the mission editor, and, well, yeah, that's something rather different from what I am used to On the other hand, do we need any thing? How good are the current servers available? Would one of those suit our needs?

Hm, moving dogfight when numbers are low could just as easy be not very satisfying... rinse & repeat? I still believe in 'leave it to the host'. Recently I have not been hosting with low numbers - or not too many times. What I think I would try and do, is to find coops very much suited for low numbers - some specific missions, normally not used because there's too little seats The only real way of restoring the numbers, is to get new people to join our group. Changing the hosting/missions would involve in a doing a lot of announcing, then make sure you are 100% prepared as to deliver what whas announced, then wait for people to show up and then deliver It was very visible in that 2014 poll, half of the respondents stated real life being the cause of not flying any more ...

Me thinks yes, and no. You will only be able to fly the planes included with the game/map you paid for, and the ones you got separately (collector planes). The other planes will be in the map, as AI, or piloted by people who did spend money on them. Not sure though, I concluded this from reading left and right, and have not verified it ... !

W00t ... Thanks much Arthur! As it appears lots of it is due to me being very much unprepared... I now remember after re-install of windows, I had re-installed BoX, but never got into retrieving an earlier backup of the controls. Similar to the Vsync - Not set in Nvidia control panel - not so long ago I switched from tuning the global settings, to the game-specific ones. So, V-sync was off, and Box not in there - yet. So, I'll use your other tips to make it all honky dory fine and shift! It does help!!

Flew a bit in the IL-2 just now. Initial observations: - Had to re-assign the keys / axis, again. At the rate I am flying this it looks like I have to do this each and every time ... lol - FFB did not work, it was switched on though? - Vync was not switched on - Whatsup with all them coloured stuff all over the screen? Pointers, hints, blobs.... must be difficulty settings, or rather easyculty settings? - I do not really care for them snowflakes - Really have to tune down the low tones on the chair - it's nearly shaking it and me apart... - I have the impression it has the look and feel of CloD, but in here the trees do have a collision model: message on screen after I collided with one: "Undercarriage failure - Bail Out!" lol - 10 minutes after exiting it, it still states "Stopping background processes. Please wait." Yeah, I need to look into this some more I guess... !

But, please explain how you are doing coop stuff in BOS, when they've only announced to impement it? Is that some special way of running the current multiplay? Can you elaborate a bit? Can we set up a server ourselves? On our on PC? On our DF-server?

Eh, yes, sure. But I bet the dollar / euro value stuff will even out some more in the near future, so right now it feels like I got a like 10% discount! Really, I am just supporting their effort. That's how I got to be a 'Founder' there...

According to my Profile / Purchases it is activated. Then again, the Pre-ordered one is as well, so I dunno what to make of that! But I get it, I will start looking into the Box set that is installed on my PC... And get past firing it up to keep it updated, and then closing it down again

Well, one could call this Good News. Hold on, it is good news!

Disagree... it's not a shame. It's too bad. But it's not a shame. This could be a language thing, but to me, using the word 'shame' means there's someone to blame for it... I think that's not the case here.

- IL2 1946 still is a lot of fun. Looks like there's no real development any more, sure TD is still there, but do we want to leave HSFX and all its contents? And, for how long can we keep it running technically, where Windows moves on, and graphics drivers with it... and hardware too ... ? - CloD - Beautiful, but too limited still. Future? Quite unsure me thinks. - BoX - Could have a grand future, once there's coop mode, and more maps/planes. - DCS is beautiful, but not really suited to our wants/need, not right now, and not in the near future. What to do? I could not tell. And I do not really have a specific preference for one of 'm. Me thinks we should focus on the group, and somehow find some common game/sim we all can enjoy ... I'll just go with the flow, and do what I can for us all ...

All done now. It just fitted neatly in the shop, joined with the other ones... On the opposite side, I put in some bicycles, painted up all detailed, and nice... You can't even see them ... lol

It all means... it's alive! Edit: At sometime in the not too distant future - we hope - a patch will be rolled out via Steam, bringing v4.5 with goodies in it. Beaufighter? And, it's free ... the patch is, you do need to have the game be sure...
