  1. Oh, sorry, forgot one, just to kinda keep the balance, and keep things in perspective: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayeux_Tapestry

  3. It can't be out of warranty yet, can it? (Still waiting for Logitech's 5.09, my G940 is still in it's box)
  4. Good Luck Sulky!
  5. Big Salute to the Canadian people! What their soldiers did back then, so far away from their homes... ... My hometown, liberated April 11th 1945 by the 3rd Canadian Infantery Division, has this item to remember their efforts: It's a German 3.7 cm Pak 35/36, on it a list of names of places and dates that unit 'visited' en route from Normandy to the Netherlands... Edit: Found out later that it was a gun captured by the British, and it somehow ended up here... It's also the route some British troops took ... Hill 112
  6. Triple Buffering is On, Vertical Sync is Force On. Driver Version: 6.14.0011.9745 (English)
  7. I do get smoke shadows on snow... I think. Will doublecheck... As for setting visibilitydistance lower, it does prevent the massive drops (at 3 FPS dropped from 60 to 20, or 16, and at 2 from 60 to 50/48 or so) when looking at certain parts of the city. All buildings popup much later though, so the initial results are very good, I'm still trying to find out what the price to pay is, visibility wise I mean... it's difficult to determine whether it shows less objects now, as in, you do not see those...
  8. Your source is wrong there. 0= <empty> ?? 1=Bi 2=Tri 3=Ani I tried it, used IL2Setup to change from Ani to Bi, and the value changes from 3 to 1. Could very well be right, could also be the reason why I do have shadows on smoke with Polygonstipple off. My VisibilityDistance is currently set to 2 to test whether how much it helps in preventing massive FPS loss over large cities... like Berlin.

  10. If the left side were the correct side, yes, it would be the right side.... And then, I'd have no problem, I could indeed drive on the right side. Therefore, as I suppose I have to drive on the left side, it is the wrong side.
  11. My boat arrives in Harwich friday at 08:00AM... then I'll have to drive 80km's on the wrong side of the road... I should be there in the afternoon I guess....
  12. Retried, still the same... But I wasn't specific in my earlier post: Shadows of smoke and explosions are the only ones affected, not the ones of aircraft, buildings or vehicles...
  13. Hmmm... them DLL's... indeed, I'm using the ones dated 13th of March 2008.... always thought those were the best... Okay, will retry using those.
  14. Happy Birthday !!
  15. Tried your settings Fruitbat, Performance was good, looked good, but my GTX260 showed them nasty pixel-by-pixel blocky thingy black-dotted-shadows-in-the-snow-stuff.... so went back to what I used to have in Conf.ini Haven't looked into what flag is responsible for it though.. Oh well!
  16. Here's a link to the full 2.0n Patch, it's a Torrent, so you will be needing a torrent client to download it : Up 2.0n torrent It's 3.5GB so it should have the complete 2.0 pack in it... Should that not work, you could use Checkmods, but that will take a very long time to finish, maybe 8 hours or so, and the result will be 2.0, not 2.0n.(Checkmods 1.34 is in the Vault, download it, install it, point it to the IL2 folder you want updated to UP2.0, press 'Bring to DD's standard' sit back and wait and wait and wait some more...) Good Luck!
  17. http://www.vistax64....rrent-user.html The above ultimately inks to: This post with the fix!

    Help Needed

Here's the part relevant for the wide screen resolution, copy and paste it in your conf.ini, replacing the current settings. [window] width=1680 height=1050 ColourBits=32 DepthBits=24 StencilBits=8 ChangeScreenRes=1 FullScreen=1 DrawIfNotFocused=0 EnableResize=1 EnableClose=0 SaveAspect=0 Use3Renders=0 Sorry, can't think of a utility that does and behaves like you describe... or ... maybe IL2 Manager ?
  21. Brilliant stuff Fruitbat, it'sindeed what I was looking for! Thanks Fruitbat!
  22. For a small project I'm in need of all the 'Default' in game skins, in the usual 1024x1024 bitmap format. Does anybody know where to find them? Or how to successfully extract them? (I can open up and extract files from fd_3do20.SFS, but this results (per plane type) into some 1Mb large .tga type files, and one 4Mb .tgb file, with which I cannot do anything..... can't open them, they are not being recognized as valid image files... Using PaintshopPro 7, IrFanView, etc.)
  23. I like the clean cut one, Question, When I hit Reply it always wants to Quote. an adjustment possibly? Just hit ' Add Reply' button, which is a bit lower on the page ...
