  1. Looks good Friar, mind if use them today?
  2. I'll be 'round, and see if there's any others 'round to host for... and then maybe host some... Brando, both bits ánd pieces... wow... sweep 'm together, drop the lot in a box, connect it... My controller's inside look like I did just that, and it works... (I've tried some soldering yesterday, for my bodnar board, failed miserably, old stuff I wanted to use appeared to be rather 'incompatible', so I will have to buy me some new switches... oh crab, should've done that today, too late now, stores have closed by now... silly me... oh well)
  3. fit the circumstances? You mean it was dark outside? Or the laptop is black too?
  4. That is a very nice laptop... especially the 7200RPM disk and the 1920 x 1200 screen resolution.
  5. Have been looking into the (Rear) gunner issue, and it's definitely very much broken. RC3 appears to not have had this fixed. Could not get a client to become a rear gunner. Whenever the client presses 'fly' he ends up in the list as being a pilot in some randome aircraft, while not showing 'Ready' status in the ready screen. Next, I tried to swap the roles: Host rear gunner, client the pilot. Very special effect. Outside view on the client/pilot pc did not show the host/gunner firing when he really was. Even, the gunner was shooting at the wingman's aircraft. But, no dice. No visible damage to the wingman (viewed from the client/pilot computer.) If the host is a gunner in an AI flown aircraft, it all works fine as it should, damage cán and will be done. Should report this as a bug, but: looking in the bug report thread for RC3, Hades states regarding the Coop mission scoring issues (ie. Host not in list of scores) "The co-op log problem is know. The eta for fixing this is un-known. Best is to use a DF server. Moreover we will support DF Server environment even more an move away from the old co-op one as we will announce a big Open-Source project for the DF Server, the UP Advanced DF Server that will change multi-player once and for all and utilize the full Df Server potencial combining Advanced Features like MDs, resource-management, AI trigger, Dynamic weather, etc... So, that's pretty bad news, if this stays that way can throw out over 2000 coop missions as they can no longer be used with UltraPack. Jippie, hosting DF's, rinse & repeat all night long! 4.11m FTW!
  6. So that's the reason I saw a big Canadian flag hanging from a house in my hometown! I get it now... Thanks Canada, Happy Happy !
  7. Thanks for the info, any idea how I can get this to work on my Nokia 6310i? Oh wait, I ám going to Legends.... never mind...
  8. Flaky? Hm. I can relate to that. Somehow. I've recently built a new system quite like yours: Asus P8P67 LE, 8 GB, GTX 580. I haven't touched that TPU switch. But, my system would boot very very slowly, the Bios part of it. Started happening after I had connected my USB devices. And, once in Bios, the cursor/pointer/menu selector went scrolling continuously, as if the down error was pressed constantly, or the mouse was moved downwards. Turned out it was one of my game controller devices, one that used to be a game pad, but of that I now only use its electronics for some 12 buttons. No switches/pots are connected to the X/Y/Z axis of the controller. And that is something this Bios cannot handle. It recognizes it as some kind of USB controller and accepts its constant inputs... Old bios never did that, but that one was much older, and did not have mouse control. I've solved it by only connecting that specific controller whenever I do need it. And have it disconnected at boot. Am already working on a Bodnar-board to replace that weird gamepad thing... They still manage to make stuff more 'intelligent' and thus more complex. More of a challenge for us to troubleshoot issues...
  9. Have looked into this a bit closer. It appears a 'Hooray for IL2-Sticks' is not really a correct qualification. The thing messes up similar to JoyControl, but only when one is using a profiles. In that case, the settings for the new axis (like zoom and radiator) are saved in the profile, but not being read from the file correctly when one tries to apply a saved profile. Now I gotta wonder whether I'll fix IL2-Sticks for this, or not. Oh well...
  10. If you are not using track-ir, then open up conf.ini using Notepad, look for the line called 'TrackIRUse=1' and change it into 'TrackIRUse=0' Save the file, and it should be good to go!
  11. So sorry to hear such awful news Ovy... Hang in there... thoughts are with you and your family ...
  12. Part of the comment was: "You also have better performance if you run the DF server in the SAME PC along with your IL2 client so people can connect without the need for another PC for DF Server." So that either means install and run the Dedicated Server on your own computer, let it run in the back ground, start 1946 and connect to you own DF server (?) Either that, or start 1946 (from a separate installation/folder/disk), host a DF map with MDS, alt-tab out, start 1946 once more, and connect to your own DF Map. (That'd be weird, and it just does not work! One would just as well start 1946 and host a DF Map, and fly on that map ... so, I think he wás talking about Dedicated server... hmmm... are there even UP3RC versions for the dedicated server?)
  13. Have you checked Youtube? Some episodes are there... Edit: Sure, you'll have to do some converting stuff.. but still...
  14. As far as I know, (for coops/single missions) switching those HUD options (Pilot number and pilot AC Designations) is not related to the mission. You can switch them in FMB, without having a mission loaded. Next, any mission you host/run will run with that (global) setting. (Maybe one should switch them with no mission loaded?) That's what happens over here..
  15. Note: these were designed as coops! Mustang MkI Tempest MkII FB FirstMustangMKIs.mis FirstMustangMKIs_ru.properties MarketGardenNijmegen_ru.properties MarketGardenNijmegen.mis
  16. that's just só silly, it's amazing!
  17. Tested it? Yes, I have set both zoom and radiator on my stock installation set to a linear sensitivity using IL2-Sticks. It works, as the in-game sensitivity screen shows the same sensitivities. The only thing that could be confusing when using IL2-Sticks, is that currently you can create profiles of settings in both IL2-Sticks ánd in the Game itself. Not mixing those up is the greatest challenge me thinks. IL2-Sticks will only look at and work with the settings that are the current profile in conf.ini. It will not recognize nor use the profiles saved from within the game. Haven't tested/tried JoyControl, but I suppose it works in the same way. Too bad it does not show the newly found axis'. (I created IL2-Sticks in 2006 or so, at the outcome of the 4.0 patch. Some russian guy saw it, and kinda used the idea (and maybe some of the programming via reverse-engineering - I dunno) to create IL2 JoyControl. Thus JoyControl is tecnically quite similar, its main addition is that it shows the position of your controllers axis when you move them.)

    Help Please

    But, is it free?
  19. Haven't looked at it in JoyControl... It probably finds the setting, but does not have a proper 'translation' for the name used in the settings.ini file. And thus leaves it blank. Yes, that's an issue, as you will not be able to tell which is which. IL2-Sticks does not make that 'mistake', it will list them. I tested it, have added 'zoom' and 'radiator' sliders, and it recognizes and shows them as such. (It does not have a proper translation for it either, but because of that, it decides to use the term it finds in the ini file. Clever programming.) Hooray for IL2-Sticks!
