  2. There are some words from the pilot himself here: https://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=104671&p=1546040#p1546040
  3. I'd happily join in with this matey, although I don't seem to be able to update to 1.5.7, is that because it's beta? Currently running 1.5.6.
  4. A bit more video of the landing: https://youtu.be/3LdrY79g99Q
  5. If you're on the Facebook, this is worth a look:
  6. Bloody quick thinking from that man, all in a matter of seconds. Tom and I were at the AirSpace end and saw it all unfold, from our viewpoint I thought he'd come down on the M11. Glad to hear she's repairable. Looks like he's one of the Yakovlev team: http://www.yakovlevs.com/the-team/pilots-and-crew/
  7. Great pics Nick! These are some of your best yet, going to grab one for desktop background methinks No news on who was Velma pilot as yet.
  8. She looks better off in this picture! Seems as though the gear cycled up or was banged up just in time.
  9. Yeah I reckon she's gonna be out of action for a good while mate, but it's not as if there's a shortage of Mustang spares.
  10. Miss Velma recovered today:
  11. And a little video here:

    Bloody Nora! Nice catch mate
  14. Top weekend with the Dogz, feeling slightly frazzled now but contented. Great to meet you Dave, thanks for showing me the way of Talisker Will report fully when I have the energy, but just thought i'd share this from the events of today to show how a heart stopping moment turned out good. 15. The only one that hasn't is Double Trouble Two isn't it?
  16. I wondered that too, especially as Frenesi is owned by the same people and that got shipped over. Then I read this from a man in the know over on the Key forums: "It was just sold to Dan Friedkin/Comanche Fighters last month (just a few weeks ago) - it had previously been owned by Max Chapman. There of course wasn't going to be enough time to have the aircraft shipped over to England in-time for Flying Legends, so that is why the trans-Atlantic flight quickly came about. "Berlin Express" and "Frenesi" are two of eight flying Mustangs in the Comanche Fighters stable - an A-36 "Apache", P-51B "Berlin Express", P-51C "Princess Elizabeth", P-51D "Frenesi", P-51D "February", P-51D "Double Trouble Two", P-51K "Fragile but Agile", and TF-51D "Bum Stear"." That's quite a collection of 51s!
  17. Wonderful Swep! Looking forward to seeing these three beauties at the weekend.
  18. Great article here about the visit of Berlin Express: http://vintageaviationecho.com/berlin-express/
  19. Five Corsairs!
  20. No, i'd say they're just protruding post impact as the wings have been creased backwards, probably breaking the spar in the process. Spitfire flaps are either fully down or up and only used for landing.
  21. Indeed, at DX they have always operated them on the hard from what I remember.
  22. Yes mate, owned by Christophe Jacquard I believe. I think it's been at Legends most years in the last decade. Lots of questions over whether it should have been operating off grass in the first place. It had a similar mishap a few years ago, clipping the grass on landing rollout sending shards flying.
  23. Regular to Flying Legends (down to display again this year) has had a serious incident at a show in France. Prop strike early on in the take off run causes the Mk XIX to flip onto it's back. Reports indicate the pilot is injured but will be ok and a member of the crowd was hurt by flying shards of wood from the propeller. Video here, shocking lack of emergency cover... http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?142549-Serious-Spitfire-crash-in-France
  24. S! And welcome Spaulding, to our mad house.
