You can set the transparency, so you could have it with none at all if you want. I like it because its nice and big. Still have the normal map as well.

Tried it, like it 2 things i particularly like, Objects in the FMB now have names, woot! And i think the fullscreen semi transparent map is very cool, Funny, the 2 things that were the main reason i flew mods to start with, 6Dof and true widescreen are now stock! That said, looking forward to the new HSFX, which is in an early alpha at the moment, so i can fly the Wellington and Beaufort

But if i was buying myself a new card to last for a while, i would want the higher specs to future proof it for that bit longer, and with flight simming and big textures being thrown at your card, on-board ram vid ram is good.

2 gigs is pretty low now for onboard memory on new cards, if i was buying a new card now i'd be looking for more. apart from that very nice indeed.

Look for the most onboard ram, fastest clock speeds for core and ram and warranty against price. Less so the actual make. Most makes do super overclocked versions of there cards. They're what i always look for.

Steam will update it to the latest official version automatically.
