  1. Tried the smoke myself in QMB: Sweet mod!
  2. Looks like windows had set the G940 inputs to ID2, after plugging in the 360 controller, and the game's input axis menu is based on ID1 only so there's the answer. To adjust anything but ID1 apparently you have to do that in the config.ini. I set the parameters I wanted there in the 1x1/1y1(which applies to ID2) and it's all peachy again. I'll continue reading those links, Delta. Alot of things worth knowing there. Thanks!
  3. Yes I boat but not with my own boat. I work on them for a living and my workplace have enough boats for us to use if we'd ever feel the need to go out someday. Is that a Black Max with a split cowling you have, Toad? Those V6's have a sweet noise to them. Especially when fresh water running them on land. Peltor is a must. :)

  4. Just looked at gozr's 6DOF vids. Looks friggin' sweet! Will buy LOMAC!
  5. Thanks delta. I don't use the 360 controller for IL-2, I just felt the urge to play other games for a minute so the G940 was never un-plugged. Sits in the same USB as it always has. Could be some kind of evil deeds done by the motherboard USB controller or something as it looks like I have to re-assign the G940 functions every time I hook up another controller to any of the other USB ports. Thank you for the links, will look into it.
  6. Looks a helluva lot better than the 2D smoke we have now. Will have to check that out. Thanks Fruitbat!
  7. Every time I hook up the 360 controller I have to re-assign all the HOTAS functions. I was aware of that and that's just how it is I guess. What's new this time is that both game copies reset themselves to stock input as well(10-20-30-40etc.) on all axis and no matter how much I adjust them to my preferred settings(0-5-10-20etc.) it just won't happen in game. I can set them to whatever I want but the aircrafts still fly as it was set to default. FECK! Anyone else having this problem?
  8. I bought FC2 today, thought it was a new released sequel and it wasn't. Now I just need to find somewhere to buy/download LOMAC. Maybe just buy the box set and wait a few days instead. It's a shame that it doesn't have Tomcats in it but Migs and Su's are pretty close I guess.
  9. Constant strip-offs.......
  10. I've heard about this on other forums as well and some of the cases was aging/worn capacitors. Replace.
  11. Alot of excellent footage there, thanks Jedi. I just keep wondering how many flares they've got though. On that final bombing mission it looked like they had the flare-button taped down....
  12. I had some RedBull dots on the screen so I tried the 50/50 vinegar/water solution. Works excellente por favor.
  13. Good to see other watercoolers in this squad. Couldn't see the images though, Brando, could be that I'm running Chrome or sumthin'.....
  14. Ok, well then my advice would be to run crossfire. The 57xx cards scale very well, perfect for CF. Personally, I'd only run triple monitors on over 3x1680x1020 on a single 5850 or above. Even then I'd have my doubts.... All 5xxx series have Eyefinity iirc but that doesn't mean that they have sufficient juice to run it for a picky FPS whore like myself. Working on a triple head too but then I'd have to atleast overclock that Q9550 a bit more to make sure it doesn't bottleneck the 5870 , at all. Paranoia? Naaah...
  15. Thanks for the heads up! I panicked my way into the profile settings ASAP!! No way I'm ready to be 40 yet. Thanks, like the new(est) forum alot better.
  16. The active DP>DVI adapter is around $100, no 5850 or 5870 is below that in pricing so unless you're running a 5770/5750 or sumthin', not necessary. But I agree too though, running triple monitors require a bit of juice so crossfiring two 5770's would get you all the juice you need to run up to three 1920x1200 monitors without much drop in FPS. 5770's also scale like no other 5xxx card. If you're running a 5870, no need for a second card, atleast not for running IL-2. Just remember to run atleast 10.2 drivers, preferrably 10.3, since 10.3 has bezel adjustment incorporated(compensating for monitor bezels). AMD Eyefinity Validated dongles(adapters). Cheers!
  17. Check out this thread. All the info you need.
  18. Well, this is my first six months of playing this game though, still a noobasaur, and I guess everyone who flies alot has this dilemma every once in a while. Yep, it's probably best if I cool down for a while and stick to JO only. It takes alot of time and the learning curve is quite steep. Working on my bike license as well, plus that I have been getting signals from family and friends that maybe it would be wise to prioritize differently. As you're saying, Sid, shouldn't have one aspect overshadowing others like it does now. Can't just sit there every night jerking that stick around anymore, I reckon.
  19. Yeah, JO combined with squad sessions takes up atleast 4 nights every week, nowadays it's 5+ since I'm in the middle of APS and stuff(homework). I feel that maybe I'm spending way too much time on this, it is a game after all, so I wondered how many hours each week you guys spend on IL-2? I'm way up there, probably around 32hours a week now that there's homework from JO..... Maybe a break from it all would be a good idea. ~S~
  20. Good info there, thanks Trout! Still haven't found my sweetspot yet though but I'm getting there.
