  1. Worry not. You're in good company.
  2. Some interesting shots of the new "Syria" map that is currently in the works. Looks like Lebanon, and parts of Israel & Turkey are to be included, perhaps Iraq also...? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200740&page=22

    LoLz!

  4. No, Viggen's had ground radar for about 3 years now. Benefitted from a comprehensive update recently too.
  5. Big update has just landed amigos! Most noticeable for you chaps will be the updated WW2 bird cockpits, the P-51, 109 and 190 in particular. Also the additional new P-51D-25. For the most part it's identical to the -30 we had already just cosmetically adjusted to look more like an ETO based Pony. For the Hornet drivers, you now have access to HARM missiles (Yay! Revenge on those pesky SAM sites!) and Laser Guided Bombs - mmmmm…. precise..... Harrier jockeys will appreciate actually being able to launch a Sidearm and not firing the gun instead! Lots of other odds and ends, all in all, pretty comprehensive. No Tomcat yet tho…..? L-39 Kursant campaign. Corrected missions of stage 6. P-51D The Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney. Removed the "player alive" success condition. Updated some docs. Mi-8MTV2 The Border Campaign. Corrected mission 8 (Radio Hunt) where group of Mi-24 can not landing. M-2000C Red Flag Campaign. Mission 03: removed static F-15 blocking taxi route for Monster (UK Tornado). Mission 10: fixed behaviour of AI F-5 and M-2000 so that they engage instead of landing. A-10C Stone Shield. Adapting mission files under DCS 2.5. Museum Relic Campaign. Numerous performance changes made to both campaigns.
  6. Hi chaps, Starting Monday 28th January, the mission I host that gives everyone a chance to fly anything will have a new toy: the DCS community made - and therefore free! - A-4E Skyhawk! However it will mean that anyone wishing to join will have to have the mod installed, whether they wish to fly it or not. Could I therefore request that those wishing to partake retrieve and install this surprisingly good Mod - it's a fun little jet, not nicknamed the Scooter for no reason! It's available here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224989 Follow the install instructions in the thread, it's pretty darn simple as Mod installation goes. Manual for those wanting to know how to do stuff once you have it is here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1cUH7jpAoGHm-IzUDnv_NDhiZlvX55Q9WvpgR1d9ksYY/edit#slide=id.g45fb1305f8_91_109 Be advised it's not yet feature complete and they are still working through some bugs, though most have workarounds, and generally don't affect too much the enjoyment of this nippy little jet. Thanks chaps! Fen
  7. Lol! Methinks that "LWin+Home" will become all Tomcat owners new most memorised key! Oh, they'll start with the best intentions... "Only 248 steps to startup - I can do this! " … 30 minutes later, no engines lit "Bugger this for a ball of chalk. What the devil is that auto-start key binding?!?"
  8. Best get memorising that start-up sequence, lads. Holy Shiiii…….! https://www.mudspike.com/dcs-heatblur-f-14b-tomcat-preview/
  9. If any of you, as I was, are experiencing a bug where AGM-65s (and now the AGM-88 in the beta version) mounted on the outboard under wing pylons (stations 2 and 6 IIRC) do not disappear when fired, well i have a solution. I deleted the fxo & metashaders2 folder from C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta as appropriate) folder. Then I Repaired DCS World from the Windows start menu. Ran a mission and now both AGM-65 and AGM-88 do not leave phantom missiles on outboard pylon when fired! To be clear: the bug behavior is weapons fire, track and (sometimes!) hit targets, disappearing from the stores page so they cannot be selected and weight and trim are affected accordingly; however, the 3D model remains on the pylon, unless emergency jettisoned.
  10. Alas, inadvertently FT is correct. A long time ago when Flaming Cliffs was released I think there was an upgrade fee to bring the LOMAC content into it, but since then there have been so many upgrades and platform evolutions that it's essentially different software. Short answer, as FT so succinctly put it, is no.
  11. Expensive deterrent to the Argies?
  12. More reduced price goodies today chaps with the Winter Sale! Spitfire, Mustang and the entire Flaming Cliffs 3 planeset at a bargain $25 apiece: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/index.php?SHOWALL_1=1 Normandy Map + Asset Pack Bundle now a steal at $30: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/bundles/normandy_and_wwii_assets_pack_bundle/ Plus savings on everything else! Some good deals in there chaps.
  13. Plenty of goodies here chaps! Of note are fixed Spitfire windscreen green tint and bomb load drag, plus a huge slew of updates for the Viggen and F/A-18. Best get downloading!

Thing of beauty as far as I'm concerned... Painless notwithstanding, obviously.
  15. What, "our" old Jedi? ? Are you sure? Well I never - if it is Theo, bloomin' good luck to him!
  16. Hi chaps, updated the OP, Nick I've colour coded the entries in response to your query.
  17. Hi chaps and chapesses, For general information here's what is pending on the DCS front, starting with the WW2 stuff as that seems to be the majority common interest. Blue is ED in-house developed, Orange is Third Party: WW2 Planes; Player Flyable: Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt Dehavilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI Messerschmitt Me 262 Vought F4U Corsair Curtiss P-40F - The developer of this module, VEAO, have ceased their development with the DCS platform. Originally planned with Corsair but the breakup of Leatherneck, Magnitude LLC have put this on hold. ???? - Heatblur had originally planned a theatre map for coincidental release with F-14, however this is currently also on hold but apparently the will is there. Hints suggested something that could be both F-14 and Viggen appropriate...Baltic/Scandinavia?
  18. For those needing some guidance, general tips or in cockpit aide memoirs, this lovely chap called Chuck has made a pdf Quick ref manual for practically all the planes in DCS. Those new arrivals - and even some of you veteran DCSers - would do well to check 'em out, cos they bloomin' useful! https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs/

  20. Air Combat Group - a mix of RAF & Lufty squads who congregated online to do realistic CloD campaigns back when CloD was more popular. Like Storm of War but a closed group. Got some good vids out there, some good pilots too. https://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/
  21. It's a rare pleasure to engage in a little synchronised tanking with your chum...
