  1. The theoretical maximum speed for a SATAIII connection is 6GB/s. I don't think 6 megabits per second is going set the world on fire 😉. Notice the use of the word theoretical - you are unlikely to see anything remotely approaching that in a real-world application (SATA SSDs are still much quicker than standard hard drives) - much like the fuel economy figures the manufacturer says you can get out of your car/truck/bike (delete as applicable). PCIe SSD cards are available but I would advise you to check very carefully that your board supports them, I've skimmed through the manual and I think it's highly unlikely but I'm prepared to be proved wrong. They are also MUCH more expensive that a standard SSD so I would probably just add another SSD and keep the change. Failing that and if you're feeling flush, swap out the mobo, processor and memory and get your added horsepower that way - in addition you could then swap out SSDs for M.2s later if you felt so inclined.
  2. ~S~ Jim. Never forgotten.
  3. Wow, I mean, I won't be getting it but wow. And Motley Crue on the soundtrack as well - Kickstart My Heart indeed.

    Summer's here!

Or damnit, I'm going to embrace that mid-life crisis.
  7. Well I'm glad that clears things up. More seriously, I'm happy to take that role on Tom, unless there are more able and capable volunteers - it's quite a big pool
  8. Can't do next Sunday though.

So sad to hear this - I remember inviting Bill to join the Dogz after he posted a question on the CloD group on Facebook. I'm glad he managed to fly with us for a little while. Blue skies mate. Jabo
  10. Got it!
  11. I'll probably not be running it again for the time being - I've only got the 4K skins now and I'm pretty happy with what I have so... It's a fantastic thing you've done there FT - thank you
  12. I now have the 4K skin zip file ready to upload. It’ll be in the Vault over the weekend
  13. I think some sort of moderation is the answer - that way broken skins or bad skins could be weeded out before making them available to the wider group.

    4K Group Skins

    Version 1.0.1

    281 downloads

1,500+ 4K aircraft skins for BoX
  15. We're just shy of 2,000 skins in the Skault now - how many is too many? I mean I've got a spare half-terabyte of disk space here.
  16. I had the same kind of issue Arthur, the fix posted by Crash above fixed it in a jiffy. The line in question for mine looks like; "InstallLocation"="E:\\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\\"
  17. That's exactly the reason FT, I don't see myself buying Flying Circus Tank or whatever it's called so I don't really see the point of downloading the skins. I thought it might be problematic as there's nothing in the file/folder name to denote which is which so it's not really a major issue if it's not a simple solution (add to that the fact that I've already downloaded some 1,400 skins of all sorts using this utility of yours it's probably a moot point anyway). Nice work though old boy, I'm far too lazy to go looking for skins for the planes so this is ideal.
  18. Any chance of adding a toggle to disable download of Flying Circus skins? Or vice versa for that matter...

    Mondays...

Same here - I've moved the game folder to deep storage but I can get it back easily enough and given that my control set up hasn't changed that should still work.
  20. Works pretty well, but I did have to re-run it several times as it kept timing out. Over 1000 skins downloaded - 30 uploaded haha

    Mondays...

That would work for me too - Well volunteered Tom
