  1. Bertie is fine Tom, let's make that change and then we'll see at the next round. Interestingly, the test mission than you and I ran successfully was before my original persona lawndarted.
  2. Are we running another mission tomorrow night - I could come up with a new persona name?
  3. Tell them to pay for their own bloody server and then they can turn the frickin' externals off all they frickin' like. Freeloaders.
  4. As I understand it Dave, unless PWCG is able to process the file, we (OK, Tom) cannot generate the next mission in the sequence so while a manual tally board is an option, if the import fails then we're flying the same mission next time anyway.
  5. Hi FT, How about running BoB missions one day and Tobruk the next and so on?
  6. Apart from GBS and CloD (which I'm getting back into), these days I'm only really playing Forza Horizons 4 and a smidgen of Skyrim very occasionally. FPS games don't really hold much interest for me although I've played Battlefield and Black Ops before.
  7. Could it be something to do with me/my pooter? It seems that anytime I take part the mission fails but the one time I miss (last Sunday) it all works fine...
  8. One of the finest musicians I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and seeing play live. Awesome. Hard to believe I was first listening to this over 30 years ago.
  9. Won't be available until the 6th Todd. There is still testing going on however, so the release could still be delayed if some huge issue is found - This is pretty unlikely at this stage.
  10. is the pressure of leading that bad Arthur?
  11. Yeah, I know about the DCS nights - just yanking Fen's chain - lol. Occasional Fridays and Saturdays might be doable.
  12. We would need a proper night set up for this - are we doing anything on Mondays or Thursdays?
  13. Thinking about it Arthur - be interesting to see if any warbirds make it in - FS2000 had some fantastic mod ones.
  14. Sorry that you've decided to move on from your original squad, but rest assured, you're more than welcome here if you decide to stay. As you might have gathered, things around here are fairly...well...'informal' to say the least. In game our realism settings are pretty relaxed although it is preferred if you don't use the minimap radar to call out targets BVR. Most of us fly either icons off or really short but for navigation purposes the majority have the plane on the map - no-one's that keen on getting lost deep in enemy territory. We do though have complex engine management on so you'll need your throttle, pitch, mixture and radiators set up for the planes that require it. Our dedicated GBS nights are Sunday and Tuesday evenings starting around 8:00pm for 2-3 hours or until people get bored. This Sunday though is a campaign session but if you've done some P-38 flying you could definitely join in with that if you wanted to. In addition, the Dogz GBS dogfight server is up 24/7 (mostly) and a quick note in the chatbox will often find people willing to fly. I'll PM you our teamspeak server details so you can join in the chat too. If you're also into flying DCS, then Mondays and Thursdays are the dedicated nights for that. As the guys have mentioned, there's no barrier to entry and the only requirements are to get involved and have fun. Cheers Jabo

  16. And six kills between us plus a medal for Tom, none of which will count - sigh.
  17. Probably not - not enough people interested in taking part. I don't think anything much has been organised yet.
  18. Friday would work for me Fen - the pubs are open on Saturday so...

    Off for a bit

    All the best Dave!
  20. All very odd, I had no problems on the DF server earlier in the evening - no problems on start up and taxi out (the pirouette issue on the first start was pilot error - this has been resolved) and takeoff was normal - On the climb out I experienced a loss of power on engine 1 so after cycling throttle and pitch for that engine to no avail I selected the option to feather engine 1's prop and applied full emergency power on engine 2 as the aircraft was on the verge of stalling out at that point. Engine 2 also lost all power at that point and therefore I only managed to get the bombs away and roll the aircraft level before I hit the ground. Fortunately as the aircraft was low and slow at the start of the problems I was able to get away from the crash unhurt. For comparisons with Pook's setup, I run a Sidewinder 2, CH Quadrant and my Frankenbox of tricks which gives me additional axes to control roll, pitch and yaw trim as well as a 2 sets of switches for engine controls (comprising select, start/stop & feather - 1 set per engine) The CH Quadrant has six axes so I have them set up as (in order) Engine 1 Pitch, Engine 1 Throttle, Engine 2 Throttle, Engine 2 Pitch, Mixture (common), Rads (common, not required for all aircraft)
