  1. It looks good, but I doubt I'll get it. I have, and enjoy playing, Silent Hunter 3. So does my 4 year old son.
  2. Sheesh! Did you hear the sound of them when they fired? Even with crappy audio, they sounded like 155mm howitzers!
  3. Here he is too... http://emuse.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/3409
  4. Not your usual 'Look at me wiping out 250 enemies!" video, but a slick tribute to the Spitfire designer, R.J. Mitchell. I especially like the bit were the Spit nudges the Doodlebug's wing and flips it over.
  5. What wireless router have you got? I got my two as I matching set. DI-624 High-Speed 2.4GHz (802.11g) Wireless 108Mbps1 Router & DWL-G650 High Speed 2.4GHz (802.11g) Wireless 108Mbps1 Cardbus Adapter The card on eBay for £10... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/D-Link-DWL-G650-1 ... dZViewItem What's the one you've seen then?
  6. Yep, I was fiddling around with it for ages last night. I'm still not happy with the current setup, it gets a bit shaky the further away you turn. But hopefully I'll fine tune it further still. My kids thought I looked funny though.
  7. To all those who don't have TrackIr like myself, I found another option on the official forums that is cheap and works. http://freelook.org/ I got it working with just these ingredients... [*:2wk47wag]A webcam (Mine is a little Creative Webcam Pro) [*:2wk47wag]A LED mini-torch on a key ring [*:2wk47wag]Red acrylic paint [*:2wk47wag]A baseball cap [*:2wk47wag]4 small Neodymium magnets. First I painted the lens of the LED torch with red paint to reduce its luminosity. Then I super-glued 2 small Neodymium magnets to its underside and placed the torch on the peak of the cap. The LED is right on the edge of the brim. Then I super-glued the remaining 2 magnets to the underside of the brim (ensuring that the torch was straight.) Then install the above software and configure the settings till you're happy. It's basic, but it works in IL-2. Some videos of it from that site... http://freelook.org/showcase/ssasu_freelook.wmv http://freelook.org/showcase/freelook_early.mov p.s. Now I can spot Fireman trying to get on my 6 slightly easier now.
  8. Yeah I think UK-Dedicated-3 must be unavailable to the public. Because when I join their TS server, you see the 3 servers listed and there's often a lot of people in the 3rd server channel.
  9. I don't know how exactly he records them, but they are all LOMAC somehow. I think he mentions using the FRAPS program. Not all are funny... http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=schmalzfaust http://www.lockonblog.de/
  10. Sorry, I forgot this was already posted by Rattler. Goldfish memory I have. http://www.dangerdogz.com/forums/index.php?topic=1651.0 Could an admin delete this please?
  11. Well watching his reaction after he did that, I think he wanted to!
  12. Anyone else seen this guy's documentaries called Man v Wild? Unbelievable the sh1t he does and literally eats in order to survive. From wikipedia... I watched all his episodes on YouTube whilst at work, as you do! You got to check them out... Episode 1 - Part 1 of 5 - Moab desert http://youtube.com/watch?v=4dDlWoqN28c Stuff he does in series... [*:3jaarm7n]Eats a raven's egg, shell and all [*:3jaarm7n]Squeezes elephant poo to drink the fluid, whilst in Africa. [*:3jaarm7n]Eats fish, snakes and dead zebra meat, all raw! [*:3jaarm7n]Parachutes into jungle canopy [*:3jaarm7n]Jumps from helicopter into Pacific and swims miles of shark-infested waters to a deserted island [*:3jaarm7n]Kicks Chuck Norris' ass! I was elaborating with one of them in that list. But it COULD be true!
  13. Been there too! My first day of basic training in RAF and this Glaswegian walks up to me and goes something like, "Herray-a-fackin-herray?" I just blinked a bit a lot and said, "Sorry, I didn't understand a word you just said mate." He got annoyed and repeated the sentence a little louder. It also didn't help that he had a hair-lip too that affected his speech. But after those 6 weeks, I was finally fluid in Glaswegian. I can impress you with stuff like, "I'm gannan forra pish." (One needs to use the WC)
  14. An Englishman is having breakfast, in Paris, one morning (coffee, croissants, bread, butter and jam) when a Frenchman, chewing bubble-gum, sits down next to him. The Englishman ignores the Frenchman who, nevertheless, starts a conversation. Frenchman: "You English folk eat the whole bread??" Englishman (in a bad mood): "Of course." Frenchman: (after blowing a huge bubble) "We don't. In France, we only eat what's inside. The crusts we collect in a container, recycle it, transform them into croissants and sell them to England." The Frenchman has a smirk on his face. The Englishman listens in silence. The Frenchman persists: "Do you eat jam with the bread??" Englishman: "Of Course." Frenchman: (cracking his bubble-gum between his teeth and chuckling). "We don't. In France we eat fresh fruit for breakfast, then we put all the peels, seeds, and leftovers in containers, recycle them, transform them into jam, and sell the jam to England." After a moment of silence, The Englishman then asks: "Do you have sex in France?" Frenchman: "Why of course we do", he says with a big smirk. Englishman: "And what do you do with the condoms once you've used them?" Frenchman: "We throw them away, of course." Englishman: "We don't. In England, we put them in a container, recycle them, melt them down into bubble-gum, and sell them to France."
  15. Wow! At first I was Meh! But then seeing inside the cockpit made me realise how amazing this thing is.
  16. Okay, I'll try different resolutions to see if I can move up without harming frame-rate.
  17. Dave, I would agree with you it WOULD be slow if I ran IL-2 at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 (32 bit), but that's just my desktop. I run the game at 800 x 600 (32 bit) and that's fine. But I agree about a CPU upgrade. Time to look around for PCs to cannibalise. Flying co-ops with TONS of stuff going on within the campaign is just too much for my CPU.
  18. DXDIAG results... DxDiag.txt
  19. Wow! Where does the poor guy live? Mars?
  20. That's another possibility. But I've flown with AceSteel before on your server BG and surely others would be in the same boat as me then, if it was because of his dial-up? What does he have ISDN or even 56K?
  21. A link to a link to a link, you gotta love hypertext!
  22. It probably is my slow-ass PC, I'll post my DXDIAG tonight then. Thanks Chris.
  23. Chaps, Anyone play HL much? Do you get any slideshow problems playing there with 4.08? It's just that I have played a few co-ops on BG's server now and exprienced bad slideshow problems, usually when we all meet over the target, which has in turn caused me to lawn-dart quite a few times. So immediately I thought, '...bugger, time to upgrade my PC if I want to continue playing online!" But then I thought back to the time I spent on HL. Before I joined you guys, I played solely on the UK dedicated 1 server. On there, we often had up to 30 players and played many of the available co-ops. Including that Normandy/Caan map that I've also played on BG's server. And I never got any stutter problems on that server and it had 3 times as many players as BG's on it. I feel bad now as though I'm slating BG's server that he's kindly opening up for us to fly on.
  24. Sheesh that is just delicious to look at. But it looks like I'll need a ninja PC to run it!
  25. As Borat would say, "Very nice! I like."
