Snacko, http://1stcavdiv.conceptbb.com/ is the squad. They have the squadron split in to 3 companys, US/EU/Rest of the world. A bunch of us just had our basic aviator wings test with a real life helicopter pilot, I was sweating buckets.

I recently joined a new squadron that's been created to just flying the Huey. Here's a little vid of one our practise nights. I'd already left when they recorded this. We're practising for a big OP on Wednesday. We'll be flying about 8 slicks and 2 to 4 gunships. Ahhh, that'll be my dream flight sim situation right there. Flying in a squad of troops into a hot LZ and picking them up later. I'd love do that in a big squadron of Hueys, Air-Cav style.

Yep, bought it last week and enjoying it so far. Even if it is still in Beta. A lot harder to land than the KA-50. My 11 year old son loves it too. On his first flight he was flying under electricity pylons nine times in a row, at full speed. I tried it once and hit the wires. I have the original DCS: Black Shark, but it's not compatible with the new all-in-one DCS software. I was looking at upgrading it and it costs $12 for an upgrade, whilst the full price for DCS:Black Shark 2 is only $15. So screw them, I'll just stick the old one. If it was $5, fair enough.

Red faction? The TR (Terran Republic) are the faction in the Red+Black. Mine, the NC (New Conglomerate) are Blue+Yellow. Then the VS (Vanu Sovereignty) are Purple+Green. Yeah, if TOAD gets hooked, maybe we could start a little DDogz outift together?

I'm currently hooked on it! LOVE IT! Really immersive. In our outfit, we regularly fill up a full platoon (48 players) and drop on a complex with 4 full Galaxies full of troops, it is awesome sauce. 40+ guys raining down from the sky must look intimidating for the defenders. Then the enemy zerg arrives and we defend for as long as we can before redeploying elsewhere. I play NC on Woodman (EU). And NC are often the least favourite faction out of the 3 and out-numbered. But that just means we are always in a target rich enviroment. I have 1 character slot left, let me know what server and faction you're on TOAD and I'll create a new toon and join in with you some time? I have a half decent PC and can run with Max settings fine, although I turn them down for better performance.

Bloody hell Sid, that is a cracker indeed! Awesome job so far, can't wait to see it with weathering. Once it's done though, take some more pics with the light source BEHIND the camera this time. I want to see it in all its glory.

This isn't a fully fledged, hard core, sim. More the kind of game, like TF2 and World of Tanks, were you log in from work, have a blast for 30 mins, and call it quits. Slowly progressing to be able to fly better planes No flying for 20 mins to get to 12,000 ft and then looking to vulch someone just taking off. I'll keep an open mind and give this a try.

I know! Just imagine if one of them just accidentally added a touch more nose down pitch, or the engine lost power briefly, or they hit an odd, slightly bigger, wave. They'd nose over and be on their back in a second. Amazing flying though.
