Hey, what if we try a completely different approach? And use aircraft! Like, in winter weather, attack tanks and guns in a ground attack plane, like, like, the P-38 !! That'd be SO COOL!

Don't know how much this will help you or not Crash, Although its in an F16, the same principles apply. You can see I put the velocity vector onto the area of the runway I want to land on, as I come out of the turn. Initially I'm to fast, so I chop the throttle, and as the speed bleeds of I slowly raise the nose, increasing the AoA but so that the velocity vector remains on the end of the runway. Once the E bracket is in the middle of the velocity vector and that is still on the end of the runway, it is then simply a case of modulating the throttle to keep it all there, which will hold you on speed (in this case for an F16 @155 kn). You don't flare modern jets, but fly them onto the ground on speed and on AoA. As Tom has alluded to, the FLOLS is additional information to tell you whether above or below the glide slope. Above it chop power until on it maintaining AoA, below increase throttle doing the same until on it.

The airfield will still be open as well, with a small museum and guaranteed activity from the resident aircraft. Could still be worth a gander

It will be a shame to see Crash out of the A20 but it is something we have talked about at length. Last night's mission for the 410th was costly and a bit frustrating. There were a couple of game issues that are no fault of anyone's...we encountered a time of stuttering, rubber banding and lag that lasted a good 5 mins whilst lining up for the bomb run that prevented a good line up as we were constantly adjusting to compensate. This added to our main level bombing problem which was that no rail target icons were visible until too late - we were bombing from 9000ft so not usually a problem. After overflying the railway station vehicle targets then came into view off the bomb run so the decision was made to attack these from a lower height. Unfortunately, having turned and dropped down the rapid fire flak opened up on us and proceeded to cause a lot of damage. We were both severely damaged and were unable to make it back, Crash was killed whilst looking for a landing spot and I crash landed in enemy territory. Probably a time to rethink A20 ops as no low level mission would be successful with so few aircraft, one individual one flying on it's own ie. mine, would be too vulnerable. I would have to be medium level unless accompanied by flak distractors in order to go low, something that the mission planner can't allocate I believe.
