Sfrost Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Just wanted to get your opinion on this as im guessing some of you guys have been with IL2 for a while now but there is a new WW2 combat flight sim coming out called war thunder: world of planes. It is set to be free to play and appears to be based off the wings of prey game engine. Im looking forward to it, signed up for the beta a while ago, what are u guys opinion? hav u heard of it? do you think it could pull people away from IL2? would u be interested in something like this? check it out amd get back to me http://warthunder.com/ Quote
Crash Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Hi there is it this? http://dangerdogz.com/forums/topic/9748-new-games-world-of-planes-sign-up-for-beta-now/ It doesnt seem a "serious" as the real deal And as we tend to fly co-ops I dont think it will pull people away from Il-2. Quote
DD_Arthur Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Isn't the Wings of Prey engine based on the IL2 engine anyway? Quote
Sfrost Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 no idea about the game engine, but just from what i've seen of the alpha gameplay looks a lot like wings of prey, but i'll be happy to test it out whenever it goes open beta and then full release Quote
2. Administrators fruitbat Posted May 6, 2012 2. Administrators Posted May 6, 2012 We have compressed 10–15 kilometers of real atmosphere into 2–3 kilometers of in-game altitude to achieve best gameplay. Each plane will have its own optimal performance altitude range, which will be defined depending on its historical characteristics Quote
Jediteo Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 It is a game, not a sim. Doesn't make it less enjoyable, just in a different way. Quote
