delta7 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I have been getting high pings for the past few weeks and thought it was due to dialup users joining the servers, however BG put me onto a program called ping plotter and it shows that it is my isp as my initial pings are around 200 Quote
Blairgowrie Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Great little programe that isn't it. Really pins down your IP if it is him who is causing the issue. Quote

1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted October 31, 2006 1. DDz Quorum Posted October 31, 2006 I guess that is what is meant by 'NTL Hell' M8. Could be time to consider an alternative ISP unless you are locked into a contract. You are on ADSL right? In which case you may well be on ADSL Max already, or about to be upgraded to it. Be advised that you will experience increased latency as they will 'interleave' the packets to improve reliability, a good ISP will turn interleaving off...but I'm not sure NTL fall into that category. Also if going to ADSL Max you will experience frequent time outs and slow downs as the line tests and stabilises itself, normally over a ten day period. Quote
