~S~ Chaps,

My machine has become very unstable with IL2 crashing , IE sometimes not working, and track IR being flaky. This has happened since a mild overclock was applied to my CPU and the latest driver for my on board sound card (Realtek) was installed ?
This is the error message I get on starting when desktop is first up................

Any help appreciated.

seems it could be a vista version of the file being copied on to an XP machine, what OS are you running?

also mozilla seems to throw this out as well, are you using mozzilla?

Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose, but young men think it is, and we were young.

Cheers Kev,

I am running XP. I did not have mozzilla on this gaming only machine untill yesterday when my m8 who was trying to clock my CPU installed it to help download the latest drivers without any IE hassles ?

Cheers,  Mick.

hey Painless,

first, i'd suggest to return the cpu clock to default, just to be sure that that is not what creates the problem. then try this:

Quote

I had the same problem while running firefox, or msn messenger. Search for dwmapi.dll. It should be located at the system32 folder. Make a backup incase. Delete it and try running firefox again. It should work without the error.

if that does not help run system restore and restore it to the date prior your friends intervention.

Here's what Microsoft say: Procedure Entry Point Not Found in Msvcrt.dll File

If you have the CD then this is probably the best way to go.
