As much as I care for FT, and his dry Nordic (Aryan?) humour...I will need sleep.

I thought I was bunking with you?
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Hey guys, we need to take some decisions regarding 'post Duxford' trip... as in some people need to book their return trip home... and need to know when to do that...

Are we (who are we?) still planning to have a multiday trip to some interesting sites in the UK Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday ... yeah, untill when?

Do we need a separate post Duxford trip thread?

I think it would be  good to have a separate thread with ideas and maybe even a poll on what people would like to do. Also we could see who will be doing it.

Hey Leon, I think I just deleted your post by accident (I was trying to quote from it - bloody phone). Sorry...

Basically flyboy wants to go to Duxford but there's no rooms left. Anyone got a spare place? Failing that, a floor?

You could always just bring a sleeping bag m8. We'll find you a place somewhere.

"TEN OF MY RULES FOR AIR FIGHTING" by Sailor Malan

  • Wait until you see the whites of his eyes. Fire short bursts of 1 to 2 seconds and only when your sights are definitely 'ON'.
  • Whilst shooting think of nothing else, brace the whole of the body, have both hands on the stick, concentrate on your ring sight.
  • Always keep a sharp lookout. "Keep your finger out!"
  • Height gives You the initiative.
  • Always turn and face the attack.
  • Make your decisions promptly. It is better to act quickly even though your tactics are not the best.
  • Never fly straight and level for more than 30 seconds in the combat area.
  • When diving to attack always leave a proportion of your formation above to act as top guard.
  • INITIATIVE, AGGRESSION, AIR DISCIPLINE, and TEAM WORK are the words that MEAN something in Air Fighting.
  • Go in quickly - Punch hard - Get out!

Speed is life. Altitude is life insurance.
