Tonar
Did the pilot survive? I didn't see him eject and that would of been a rough ride.

And if I am not wrong, that was his second crash with the Jas 39 gripen. Anyway, he raised the stakes a whole lot more and did it all over again. Over Stockholm ( capital) over and in front of about 200 000people, during the Stockholm water festival. And this what that looked like
Jediteo
He was the main test pilot for the Gripen development. He crashed the bird twice, both times due to problems with the flight control system. As this was the first domestic completely fly-by-wire aircraft, which is unstable in more than one axis, there were some problems with the development, not very unusual. Pretty cool aircraft, I've been 10 meters away from it when it starts, quite loud really.
2. Administrators Jabo Posted June 19, 2011 2. Administrators Share Posted June 19, 2011 He sure didn't waste time getting out of that situation. Someone needs to take a look at the software I think. I've seen the first crash footage, but not the second. Jabo
