The only thing I'd add to the points already made Col, is that the boards you're looking at are not SLI/Crossfire compatible as they only have one x16 slot. A lot of the newer games get a significant boost from using a couple (or even three) gfx cards. Obviously, for the time being you could use a single card, but to build in some additional future-proofing, I'd look for a board which can support multiple graphics cards (which when they're cheaper later may be an easier upgrade pill to swallow). My old machine, in Blackdeath at 2:30 running at 1024x768 with most graphics on middle or low setting returned these; Min: 13, Max: 64, Avg:39 On the new rig, exactly the same settings; Min:58, Max: 61, Avg: 60 I took vertical sync off and the max shot up to 1000!, thats not a misprint...yes, one thousand....!!!! holy cow!
