I really like the Anson (How can you not like a plane called Faithful Annie?).  The CLoD splash screen shows a teaser Anson, and supposedly there's an AI version in the game somewhere, but danged if I can find it.  And do the devs have any plans for a flyable version?

It's AI only indeed. No way to fly it currently, and I haven't heard anything about them trying to make it flyable.

Too bad.

Take  a Blenheim, empty loadout, squit your eyes a bit and you're half way there! :shaunhb:

There's two sub-missions that may spawn in on our server with the Anson in it... there's a chance you see it fly in there, although it will be a small one...

I've certainly never seen one in the game. There's a lovely example of the civilian version of the Anson (the Avro Nineteen) in the Shuttleworth collection at Old Warden and there's a military version I occasionally see bimbling about the local area too. Always nice to see.

How about a Anson ASR escort misson for the CloD server FT? Anson spawns in on a base we frequent, flies to a point over the Channel, circles for a bit then goes home. We could escort or ignore and at least we'd see one occasionally!

Brilliant idea!

And we can make it even more better ! :)

Once the Anson thinks he's found something, he sends out a boat, ánd a Walrus!

Walrus lands on the water, picks up whatever Charly, Ivan, Joe or Hans is in the Channel, takes off again, and flies home! Should the Walrus crash, the boat can finish the job!

Oh carp, know we're giving away what could've been a complete surprise!

Oh well  ... :shaunhb:

Like the idea, I'll see what I can do!

It was said they had mounted a British compass in his I-16 ...

Really?  Sounds painful.  Couldn't they have just held hands?:shaunhb:
