1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted March 18, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 18, 2015 Firewall? DNS updater not running? Some detail would help
Crash
Hi Rog, the updater runs and gives the correct IP address. Friar, BluBear and I all have the issue which started on Sunday and people can join when using IP address so I dont think its at the clients end, Could the Namecheap server have issues and is there anyway to find out? 1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted March 18, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 18, 2015 Very weird. The DNS record on namecheap is correct, however pinging crash.dangerdogz.com resolves to the wrong IP. This indicates there is a higher level failure in the Internets DNS propagation, in other words Dave... ..you have broken the internet!! Can you try a different name, dd-crash.dangerdogz.com would be my first try.
Crash
I have just added ddcrash.dangerdogz.com . I will run 46 tomorrow early evening.
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted March 18, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 18, 2015 An hour or so later, ddcrash.dangerdogz.com is not getting resolved to an IP address ...
Crash
Yep when I checked it it said "no records updated A record not found" I am very sorry that I broke the interwebs Do I have to be online for the IP to be recognized?
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted March 18, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 18, 2015 ' Online' ? No, you do not need to be logged on to the forums, but your pc must be actively connected to the internet.
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted March 19, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 19, 2015 Double check the password you are using for DNS update, ddcrash.dangerdogz.com was not pushed to DNS.
Crash
The password was copied from the PM you sent me and pasted into the gui. After I did this it said No records updated A record not found. It tells me that crash.dangerdogz.com has been updated which should mean the the password is OK (I think) I will leave my rig on so its talking to the tinterwebz. Crash
Is dangerdogz.com still registered with NameCheap?
1. DDz Quorum FoolTrottel Posted March 19, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 19, 2015 That's where the problem lies me thinks... Can you verify that Rog? I ran the client as well, tried it, and it just states the 'No Records updated. A record not Found' in the status window...
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted March 20, 2015 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted March 20, 2015 Resent the password to you both. Will update the DynDNS post in private section with password, as it is the same password for everyone
