  1. Two arches - fitting - trying ... There's an amazing amount of time disappearing into them small thingies I decided to add, to help with looks, and also construction... For each of those 20 vertical thingies, 6 detail-items to create and to glue ...
  2. Some 70 small items. Created manually, one by one. I will need 96 of them.
  3. Something else to try: Start the game, go to Pilot, create a new pilot, and select it. Then go into Controls, and try assigning it once more, by clicking and then moving the axis... Oh, and make sure the stick is connected first
  4. Well, your joystick is not listed in there? Was it disconnected maybe? If it was connected... dunno why it would not show up. Then again, for IL2 to be able to use it, it must show up in 'Direct Input Devices' .... Edit: As it is a laptop, are you maybe using a USB hub? If so, try and connect the stick directly to a port on the laptop...
  5. Please run a DxDiag report (click here to read how) and paste the results in a reply here ...
  6. Hm, why do you have that Parallel Port Joystick in there? Is the Logitech a USB one?
  7. Biggest advantage is that I can now switch between Speakers and Headset with a button press... no more plugging cables, or switching devices As for sound quality? The Kave Digital is lacking in the bass area... but as I only have it at a low volume, it's not much of a problem, to me. Oh, the low volume is also the reason why I do not use the kicker with it...
  8. Nope. But, then again, I never tried to I see no need in that.... but, maybe I should look into it? No, one would have to open up the set to get to it...
  9. "nothing change" as in ... you mouse click on the line, get the box to show, move the control, but the 'Axis-Y' text does not show up? That is just weird. What joystick is it? Brand? Model? Does it show up as a Game Controller? - Press Start Button, type game controllers and select it in the list above ...
  10. You first tried to do what I suggested? Start the game, go to 'Controls', then scroll all the way down to the 'HOTAS Control' section. (As in: not the Hardware setup...)
  11. I am using that Kave 5.1 Digital. ROC-14-160 I upgraded to that from a Kave 5.1 Surround. (That one I handed over to Crash, so I cannot test it for you...) You should be able to connect the Surround to the controlbox of the Digital. I have my 5.1 speakerset connected to it. You can then use the 'Speakers' button on the control box to switch from the Digital one to the Surround one. Can't use 'm both at the same time, sound wise. You would be left with only one sound device (switching off the onboard one). That's good. Cable lenght of both headsets is fair, but I could not tell you whether it's sufficient for you... you can always lengthen them for sure.
  12. Indonesia according to his flag. Ah, thanks... makes sense then
  13. First, run IL2set again, and set it to 'OpenGL' mode, instead of DirectX (0:13 in your video, that screen). Next, edit conf.ini with Notepad, and set the top stuff to like below. Now the widht and height are a guess, enter the values you run windows at. The IL2Set has too limited options. After this edit, do not ever run IL2Set again, or it will mess it all up.... [window] width=1680 height=1050 ColourBits=32 DepthBits=24 StencilBits=8 ChangeScreenRes=0 FullScreen=1 DrawIfNotFocused=1 EnableResize=0 EnableClose=0 SaveAspect=0 Use3Renders=0 First step is to get it started ...
  14. Sleep tight! Edit: Hold on, 1:00 PM? That's daytime! Where are you located?
  15. Welcome! Please tell us what screen resolution you are using, and post the contents of the file named 'conf.ini' in here. (open it in notepad, select all text, copy it, paste it in a post in here..)
  16. Me thinks most modern headsets use USB for 5.1, or even 7.1 That is, most of 'm use software tricks to make it sound like you do have 8 speakers... And, using USB headsets will make you go digital... connection wise. And, you get the problem of having multiple devices... What about this thing: Logitech G930 , it's got 7.1, and is wireless. That may solve your issue of using two setups? (Butkicker might be a no go in this setup though...)
  17. Welcome here! IL-2 can be a bit special in setting up your controls, and chances are you need to do something special. I'll try and talk you through it. Start the game, go to 'Controls', then scroll all the way down to the 'HOTAS Control' section. Now use the mouse to click on the right hand side of the screen, at the level of the control you want to assign, in the screen below it's the Aileron function. Click so a box appears. Now move the stick to the right, so you have to move the Axis of the stick that you want to assign to Ailerons. Do the same for Elevator, moving the stick forward. And for rudder, if you have it on the stick that is, other wise, kick your rudder pedals. Test it in game. In cockpit, use external view to see whether the surfaces move correctly... If they move in the wrong direction - suppose the Aileron does - then go back to the controls, click on the Aileron part again, then move the stick the other direction (left in this case ie. my example / my instructions.) You should see the directional change in that a - appears in front, or disappears if it was... Hope this helps!
  18. Me thinks some manual adjustments to conf.ini are in order there... send 'm over here!
  19. All glued together now: Now me thinks the next step should be to put in the road surface / decking, instead of starting the stuff that will make the span...
  20. No need for Compatibility mode I think... Can't remember either...
  21. Noteworthy? Some head-on car crashes ... ? No, it'd have to be the filming of course ... Oh, just read in the news the local museum had to close up shop, due to budget cuts ... Fools!
  22. Hm. Now that you mention it, I haven't really checked it... Well, at 2m long, maybe some 25cm high ... No problem ... I hope
