Came across this pic on youtube.....looks like a KI-type (maybe given by Japan in some exchange program?), but I'm not sure...anyone know?

So there's no way to extract these sounds and/or replace them? And I thought using WAV. in games was too massive.... Best way is compressed audio like mp3 or OGG which only needs 1mb the most and still be of quality... I'll continue my search though....maybe I'll give Oleg a ring?

Ever since I saw the post by B16 and how some enthousiast made the current changes in sound happen in BoB WoV II, things started brewing in my head... Is it possible to do the same with IL-2? I have a degree in soundengineering (studio and life concepts), so I was thinking of using these skills to make it happen... Looking through the folders of IL-2, I found some wav. files, but those are not the ones that "provide" all the sounds ingame... Now my question to our PC buffs is, what code is used, how can I convert the soundfiles needed, what programs used etc.. Knowing that to get the sounds, mix them, work within certain parameters, etc... is one big task, as is putting them into the game is another... Any thoughts, remarks or such?.... I hope this will get a good debate going

Woot....just bought the limited edition on E-bay for about 8 GBP..incl. shipping...not a bad price..it comes with an etra dvd...and I believe it's the latest version as well....so prolly no downloads... Happy as a young kid now.....bin surfing for about 2 hours to find this deal....

Thx for the reply deacon... I've been reading in a swiffy on the forum, and they are talking about a patch which changes other sounds (machineguns?)and the clarity of cockpit glass? Are those different patches then the one you talked about? I'm gonna order it through their website, unless I can find a cheaper on E-bay, but I've already checked, to no avail...

I'm thinking of buying this game, can't help it, it's the sounds that did the trick... Any thoughts on why I should NOT do it? or SHOULD?....

Got rid of the "thick"...uninstalled and re-installed nvidia audio drivers..basic setting stays put now... If any of the pc buffs find something "strange" on the dxdiag info, plz tell

I've just DL'ed and installed over the old driver... 2nd, the "thicks" where already there BEFORE the new DL....that's why I looked for an update....learned about the acceleration untill later... I will post the dxdiag info laterzz m8.... dxdiag There ya go!

Recently, I'm experiencing anoying "clicks" ingame, high pitched frequency, like digital distortion.... I've downloaded the latest driver for my onboard sound card
