  1. Thanks Tom. I was hoping they did not impede players from taking off as I was going to put some manual "runway closed" logic following a AI attack at one of our airfields. I was going to do pseudo "repairs" and then open the runway again but if AI bombing a runway prevents players from using the runway (and I think it is for about an hour) then that would be no good for the campaign I am working on. I might have the AI attack NEAR the runway and then if they have got through then implement my closed / open logic. If anyone has any other test results / comments then please chip in. This DD_Friar broadcasting from a wet and overcast Suffolk holiday park where myself and the wife probably rank in the top 2% youngest visitors. Anyone for "Zimmer Wars"?

Salute I am away this week on holiday and was wondering if someone please could do a test whilst I am away that would assist with a feature I am thinking of putting into a new campaign mission I am currently building. I would like to know if a runway has been bombed, can planes take off over the crater marks on the runway? There appears to be some posts about this but nothing recent. Hopefully they can, which is fine for the scenario I am contemplating, which may sound odd, but I shall say no more. Many thanks Friar
  3. I have changed the scripts on the Syria maps and uploaded new versions. I have run the 10:00 Syria map up on the server. These missions have not yet been converted to Dynamic Spawns so stick with the old method for now. It will come as with it the player gets to choose hot start or not at arming screen so I will not have to add extra units.

  5. Lets leave out the Afghanistan map for now. Its really big and will take a long time to download. If we want to run a mission either I or Fruitbat perhaps will host?

  7. Posted on DML thread. cfrag has replied to say caused by unannounced change to the way some data is sent to one of the tables. He has posted new scripts to fix this issue. I will add them into the missions and re-upload. He ended by saying that there may be others but bear with me I will get the fixes in as soon as I can.

Salute @FoolTrottel - Sir, I know we have spoken about this a little while ago when I mentioned that I thought the issue of F14 mid air spawn on the server was down to the super carrier module not being deployed and you came back with the Caucasus map being ok. I checked and that map does not use the same carrier and plus I have just tried our previous Persian Gulf mission which we had been running for ages and that to has me spawning in mid air when I try and take the F14 on the TR. I think it is too much of a coincidence that both the Syria and PG maps both have the same issue, but run fine on my machine. If I ask "pretty please", please may you check to see if the SuperCarrier has been deployed to the new install.

  16. Would GBS be willing to loose Tuesdays and we move DCS to Tuesday from Monday? That would enable Crash to play also Perf with his new super computer is getting into DCS.
  17. UPDATE 29th June 2024 Syria 10:00hrs Map Only Added random supply convoy group as targets. Their start position is marked on the map. When all units in the convoy have been killed another convoy will be generated. Includes Phantom and Kiowa Changed missile warning system on Kiowa Hopefully corrected carrier position so planes should no longer start in air Aleppo airfield is a base that could be captured by ground units, provided the area is cleared out if course As per the original Persian map there are numerous random picked SAM sites as well as groups of tanks for the ground pounders. This map has the option to spawn enemy fighters as per the old Persian Gulf map. I.e once they have been activated they are self populating. (Is this the preferred style rather than you picking what is coming?) There is also the option for air to air training with the ability to spawn in unarmed Migs.

  20. UPDATE 16TH JUNE 2024 Persian Gulf Map (Scenario 2) 05:30 A new map has been uploaded to the server which seems to be running much better on the frames. New Air to Air menu structure. With the latest release of DML I can now nest menus. Spawn A2A Enemy IL76 / Mig19 Unarmed IL76 Mig19 Unarmed Mig29 / SU27 / F14 SU27 Mig29 F14 Mig15 / Mig19 / Mig26 Mig15 Mig19 Mig26 As each pair or singlet is killed you will have to spawn them again if you want another fight. It is not automatic. If you have have any ideas for other aircraft to be added, please let me know. Map includes Hercules based in Oman Map included Blackhawk. Troops can be loaded from the airport, you do not need to go to a base to pick them up. Triggered scenarios. Rather than having lots of things going on at once I am building a chain. For example when one scenario is cleared out that will trigger another, and so on. Some of the triggers will have more than one option to be run, so hopefully over time will give a varied experience.
  21. Could we tempt you into DCS Arthur? There is a very nice free Hercules mod (official version is on the road map). You can load and deliver cargo to impact an airfields viability? Or is helicopters you could go Blackhawk, another very good free mod? Anyway nice to see you still around the forums Cheers Friar

  23. UPDATE 9th June 2024 Persian Gulf Map 10:00 Only Updated DML scripts to latest version. Release was made to deal with some reported issues with the clone feature (its what I use to randomly place the SAM sites and also some other units. Removed the 3 moving sets of enemy ground troops. These were a recent addition and may have been a step too far. There were about 12-15 soldiers in each group. Scaled back the number of random generated SAM sites, perhaps I was getting a bit over enthusiastic. I was brought it back to just 5 from 8. Caucasus Map (DD_All Planes Jet Practice 0700) Slight name change from the original version which was DD_ALL Planes A4 Jet Practice 0700. I have left this version in tact. @DD_Fenrir hope that's OK. Added in the Kiowa Added in the Phantom
  24. So I ran two mission tests last night. 1. Using our Persian Gulf Map I removed all the DML scripts but left the Phantom in. I turned on my frames so I could monitor. I have my frames capped at 60 in my settings (I read a while back that this was the right thing to do?). I used the phantom for bombing practice using high drag and clusters (first time I had used them, they make a nice mess of the hostage town ). My frames stayed pretty much solid at 60. There was the odd dip (flying low over a big town but that was to be expected) but nothing serious enough to cause a freeze or lock up. 2. Using our Persian Gulf map I removed the Phantom and put back all the DML. I used the Apache this time and again kept an eye on the frames. They stayed pretty much the same as before, most of the time at 60 with the odd dip. Loading into the Apache was a little slow for all the graphics to render (and possibly the DML spawns which I know there may be a problem with at the moment. cfrag is aware and planning to release a fix this weekend. Once he does I will update the mission with the new scripts) and there was the odd stutter while this was taking place, but we have had they before anyway. Once everything had rendered ok I had not problems flying around, putting it into a solid hover or putting warheads on foreheads. Outcome of my test on my own on the server: INCONCLUSIVE. (Unless something has changed in the background of course and we are back to original performance.) I have put the full Persian Gulf map back up (Phantom and DML) so lets see how that goes.
