  1. New host is running mySQL 4, current host is running 4 and 5. (mySQL is the database into which all our posts, configuration and account details are stuffed). mySQL 4 will not read mySQL 5 files so I had to work out how to export the data, thereby preserving all our posts etc. Well I managed it in the end, took about 9 ours or so.... Results can be seen at http://www.dangerdogz.com/test/index.php But don't post there as it will be overwritten! (you can post of course but it will be futile  I'm now planning to migrate the forum there on Monday, there will be a 3 hour period whilst the re-direct takes effect. Tomorrow I'm going to recommence the web page side of it....until I get to fly that is!
  2. My thoughts are with you James, good luck and I hope it goes well for you. Ultimately we have to sort our priorities, otherwise we will get little comfort from indulging in those things we enjoy knowing we have neglected more important issues. As a veteran of one failed marriage (in my case it was doomed from the outset) and now happily re-married I learnt how to get priorities right. We will share with you gladly all screenshots, tracks and the odd (being the DD's it could only be odd ) movie. Godspeed, and until you return fly with your 'co-pilot' well. Thanks for your support too Rog.

    Do I Need Help?

I think you are beyond help, beyond the community even Oops, in my haste to create this section I omitted to set permissions. Done, you should be able to start a topic now m8
  4. Oh look, there seems to be one there all of a sudden Done M8, good idea. May move the hardware one in to it....
  5. Hi all. Woof! I have secured our hosting for a year on a States-side host. Currently this is on http://www.dangerdogz.com (don't worry my HH friends it will become k9squadrons.com when I'm ready to transfer to it) and comes with some nice additional features. Amongst the features are things like double the monthly bandwidth, now 100Gb, unlimited anonymous ftp and some neat server side image maniupulation tricks that we will make use of in our screen shots pages. I have already got the forum skeleton up, this will have the data (all our posts) imported when ready. For now you can view the style Here you can of course register and post, but they will be lost when I copy this lot across. We will have a choice of email addresses too, either @dangerdogz.com or @k9squadrons.com These will have to be set up by myself, but once done you set the password to one of your choice. I will be able to reset passwords if they get lost/forgotten. This host allows browsing of folders in IE/Firefox too, although our web pages will incorporate browsing any way.
  6. That was a cracking fight, it was only the robustness of the 109 that saved me You had me sweating big time Matt. Now to download it and see what was what!
  7. Ok Skins folder fully populated now....288 or thereabouts folders in all! Missions page gremlin fixed too. Screens page should be up and running around 18:00 GMT
  8. Don't stop now very good, they will be used Thank you.
  9. Also: http://www.k9squadrons.com/files/missio ... s_list.php (will list/browse and allow download). http://www.k9squadrons.com/files/missio ... upload.php will allow upload of single files. Again this can be accessed via the menu->resources->missions, button needs sorting out on the browse page
  10. Okay, to both test it out and because I wanted the skin available for use, I uploaded a Nightfighter skin for Mosquito IV's by SeaNorris. I got it from Flying Legends. http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.php?id=3353. I included the author name on the JPG image. Is this kinda what you had in mind? BTW, for those of you flying this Thursday, you might want to download this skin and put it in your skin folder for the Mosquito. I am using it for two of the missions we will be flying. [/img] That's great - just what we are looking for. Good idea to put authors name on jpg too Screenshot from mission is also a good idea, if you have any other screenshots that we may be able to use on the web pages themselves, although Arsenal does keep coming up with original images....!!
  11. A/C list will be put on server tonight, thanks Dave Credit must be given to skin/mission creators.
  12. Yup I need some artwork now guys, skins page could do with some screen grabs displaying skins. I could do with a hand on listing the ac types so I can populate the skin folders ready to take uploads. You may notice that we can now browse the skins folder, and indeed upload skins direct from the page....by a new method Try it: (you can access this from the skins page too) http://www.k9squadrons.com/files/skins/skins_list.php (will list/browse and allow download. http://www.k9squadrons.com/files/skins/skins_upload.php will allow upload of single files. Neat trick that this does is it will also do a thumbnail, but it has to be a jpg so if you have a nice skin: do a screen grab, make it a jpg (size not too critical) give it the same name as your skin. See the spit skins folder for an example of the thumbnail Access is open for anyone to upload until I implement password protection.... Same needs for missions listings, I need campaign areas etc. to create the structure. Ditto for screens, except I just need ideas on how to structure that. I'm thinking by size/resolution. Say 1024 x 768 folders and 1600 x 1200 etc? Tracks....Campaign track listings, training and humour? Again artwork for the above categories would be good, and help much appreciated as this has taken up a lot of time for Jeremy and I. I've enjoyed it though!

    Kudos!

Thanks Hats off to Jeremy though! Really nice work he's doing there..
  14. Wow Weasel has done some great work there BG So why did you think it needed nailing again?
  15. B16Enk

    FPS

I'll post some up for you later, busy on the website side at the moment. In order for the fps to be meaningful we should use the Black Death track, from 30sec to 2:30. Resolution @ 1024 x 768? I usually run at 1600 x 1200 so could post those too. Bear in mind that there are many tweaks that can be done (there was a monster thread on UBI over this a month or two back) that will skew figures one way or the other.
  16. Guys, if you are sending skins around the 'net how about sending some to me? I can chuck them up here for us to download ;)
  17. 'Our users have posted a total of 541 articles' I think says it. I'm sorry that it is taking so long to fully crystallize, we are working on making the 'Kennel' a show piece we can all be proud of. We will shortly have email addresses too, they will be in the form of 'your nick' @ k9squadrons.com. For example b16enk@k9squadrons.com. If you are interested please let me know, the email address can be forwarded to another email address of your choice.........
  18. I'll go on the record. DD_ has it for me. (note the underscore character ). Brings back a child hood memory, my younger brother and I were loonies on bikes, the DDD's, 'Daring Dare Devils'. Not quite the same but I guess you get the gist. If we (as a squad) meet up with another then flying as DD_ournick seems appropriate, and pretty much the way it is done elsewhere
  19. Raptors are quick, but your needs sound like they are of a more capacity requirement. WD and Maxtor drives are both good, I have WDC WD2000JS (190Gb formatted) as my main drives. They are good value. RAID....well I would avoid it, not worth the time or fiscal investment considering the benefits and the downside if one fails (goodbye all data).
  20. I had no idea where I was supposed to be going either Dave, managed to meet Col. Cup en-route though
  21. Nice, I liked the second one - where I have wandered off with my AI wingman in tow! Nice skin, I don't recall my spit being dressed up in that! Is it time we collated our skin collections? I for one have none  but will be more than happy to upload them here for us to share.....
  22. Good points raised there Glenn Announcements are a great idea, very simple to implement and we need only log into the forum briefly to see if there is any action on I'll not vote on the West Coast business
