I found a webpage that helps with monitor calibration. I've always just winged it with my monitors, but this really makes a difference for me with night visibility and daytime glare . http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

I mostly worked with the Black levels/ White saturation/ and then gamma/ contrast. Took me a while to get it all balanced, but was worth it in the end.
