Perfesser Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I'm a big fan of high quality components, especially in the core of your system like motherboard and power supply. Asus is a great brand, I've used their boards in almost all my systems. Just make sure it will be compatible with the rest of your system and leave room to upgrade with better chips and periphery cards. If you're building a lower end system you can hardly go wrong by using the mobo recommended from the 'mid-range' systems from the sites I listed above.. Quote
Sulky Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 yeah mate p5n-e is just an earlier revision of that board, so unlying it would be the same, yours will have been tweaked and maybe some extra bits added Quote

Ash Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Hey Smash, Just a quick one - I noticed Okies post here: http://www.dangerdogz.com/forums/index.php/topic,52.msg65219.html#msg65219 (reply no 80) about 4 up from bottom of page and thought of your new PC build. Might be worth you getting in touch with him as q P5Q-E will run those 2 in crossfire nicely for Il2 Ash Quote

Perfesser Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Depends on your OS. When I was looking at this whole mess a year or so back I'm pretty sure the that a single card running DX10 will perform better than a pair in SLI or Crossfire using DX 9. That may have changed since then so don't quo ..... wait a sec, I made that mistake before Quote

Snacko Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Doesn't a game have to be written specifically for DX10 for DX10 to be used? Quote

Smash Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 Does any one have any suggested place to buy RAM? Quote
Smash Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Its a DDR2 slot and it takes like a zillion different types Quote
Snacko Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Well, just make sure it works with your motherboard. Quote
Perfesser Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I think Kingston or Corsair has a "memory configurator" thingy on their website. Specs for your mainboard should say what to use as well. Quote
