DD_Arthur Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Has it got a working FMC?😃 Where's he pulling the chart up from?🤔 Welcome to my world Friar! Quote
wingflyr Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Very very tempting but, If it was the guns and cannon version or Air to air refueling for my thirsty buddies then for sure. I know its a later version possibility. Quote
1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted August 4 Author 1. DDz Quorum Posted August 4 @wingflyr - If you buy this you also get the second version which WILL HAVE player flyable air-to-air refuelling. May be quite a way down the road though. In the interview they talk about the possibility of flying a mission escorted by an F18 to drop cargo and then re-fuelling him on the way home. 1 Quote

The chart is on the "kneeboard". A feature all planes in DCS have. They list all the airfield layouts and approaches / runways etc. Quote

That thing on the top of the pedestal that looks like a desktop calculator (it was modelled on the classic Texas Instruments one) is the fmc. Very broadly, it's what you put a course into that your auto pilot can follow. Every airliner since 1980 has had one. All large military aircraft have them these days. Very interesting that someone has taken the time to model one in DCS. I'm curious if it's fully functional. Quote

DD_Arthur Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Doh! I never knew military jets had them!😃 I thought it was all aircraft specific GPS systems and tacan. Silly question; how extensive is the destination library in DCS? I know a modern C-130 will have almost every civilian airport in the world in its data base... Quote
wingflyr Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Love to buy the C-130 but I purchased the Germany map so will have to wait a bit. Quote
