BBloke Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Excellent.. what did you do to the TIR to get it working? I've heard mine has arrived at a friends house.. just have to collect it this week Quote

1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted January 23, 2008 1. DDz Quorum Posted January 23, 2008 Salute JP! Just remember to watch out for background light on the tir and you will be fine. I sometimes to a quick check by going into the "view" option and clicking on the "tracking" tab. That should show 3 nice green blobs. If there is background light it will show as red patches. Useful for checking head movement as well. You can see if any of the blobs disapear which will mean that the camera will loose tracking. My weak spot was on looking up. As the top reflector went back the camera lost it. I cured it by raising the height of the camera and had it looking slightly down. It really is amazing when you add a bit of new tecnology to this game how often if makes it like finding it for the first time. Quote
GreyKnight Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Cue Rocky theme music- JP now has TrackIR at last... Cold_Gambler now has will have soon TrackIR... :boxer: I feel another spanking coming on Sunday? Quote
Tonar Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Just remember that Glass behind you will also mess it up. or anything reflective. like friar said, use the "tracking" view to see what it See's. the best thing to have behind you is a Velvet Elvis Painting Quote
1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted January 23, 2008 1. DDz Quorum Posted January 23, 2008 NOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Not Elvis that is my worst nightmare, go to a Chinese restaurant for a nice meal and an Elvis impersonator comes on, its enough to make you puke in your won-ton soup Quote
JensenPark Posted January 23, 2008 Author Posted January 23, 2008 Oh, and the pornography is simply exquisite on the big screen - though the screen gets a bit sticky from time to time...and my kleenex costs are way up. As to the TIR...no lights on...and mounting it on top of the new monitor brought it down a few inches...probably just lined up better. Quote
DoubleTap Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Excellent.. what did you do to the TIR to get it working? I've heard mine has arrived at a friends house.. just have to collect it this week What a second...have you been flying WITHOUT track IR all this time?!? Holy f__K is right! DT Quote
Crash Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Why not add a track clip pro? They are very good Quote
BBloke Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I agree a track pro clip is good but I find the wire a pain in the neck to an almost chocking degree! Pro: Allows for more light sensitive filter Con: Damn wire round yer neck. Quote
1. DDz Quorum Friar Posted January 23, 2008 1. DDz Quorum Posted January 23, 2008 i meant to say about ambient light - i often play with the central room light on, its reflections/lights in line of sight to the camera thats the problem Quote

Logos Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Absolutely marvelous J Peroni. I have a Kensington anti glare screen protector which catches much of that strange phenomenon of sticky formations appearing. Glad to hear you are finally experiencing the game to it's full potential, or close. Always something coming along to upgrade. You referred to our Red counterparts as vermin? Damn, I would have expected a more colorful string of adjectives and expletives. Jolly good news though mate. Logos I L ve my Red brothers. Quote
1. DDz Quorum Painless Posted January 24, 2008 1. DDz Quorum Posted January 24, 2008 ~S~ Chaps, managed to get things set up including a new graphics driver with allot of help from Klinger, (for which I'm very grateful ) I made a few mistakes during the day which thankfully Kling put right, thank heavens for M8s ! Also put in the conf ini script so all looks fantastic now. Have to run "High" for both ground detail and ground lighting instead of "Excellent" to get things smooth and thats with the Radion X1950 pro card , 2GB RAM, Dual core. ~S~ Painless Quote
Enforcer57 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 And if you wear glasses, DON'T wear them with the Tir. It confuses the blazes outta that thing. I found that out the hard way a few mos back. Quote
DoubleTap Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 While we are chatting about monitors, what are do you guys recommend to clean flat screen (you know, without damaging it). DT Quote
