  2. I'm with Brando, I got a G940 set. It's up for sale. (Has been for a while. Prices appear to be dropping at online shops. Not good. For me.) I may not (be able to) sell it at all, and may give it another go. But I did not like it at all. FFB did not feel good, messy and inconsequent. Too big a deadzone at center stick (FFB wise) Could be just me, being used to quite a different FFB stick. Could be due to tuning, which I did not really try. But, do not just get the G940 like I did! First, make sure you like it...
  3. Similar, but a difference: Our trees are snow covered as well, very fresh snow, from last night:

  8. Good to read you got it all running Watson!
  9. It's about 0C over here, after some days of a few degrees below 0. Rain is expected later tonight. And if that touches the cold ground... ice! I'd better get home early tonight...

    small project

You should be proud. Great idea! Tried it, and it works brilliantly, you can't even tell it's active, you don't see a thing of it doing its job! I'm not going to use it myself though. For that particular same reason. I'm too much a file/folder-browser guy, and I'd very likely make a mistake and delete a file, or folder 'shared' via Junction/Mklink. (And I'd get confused quickly too ) I know myself too well.... this will take me much too much time for to get used to, versus the (solely in my opinion) 'limited' gain. And the risks I'd be taking! Oh my! My simple mind will just go for some redundancy and extra wasted disk-space. That's just me, you go for it!

    Greetings

Gelukkig Kerstfeest Ovy, fijne vakantie en goede jaarwisseling!
  12. Cool stuff... That one video... lol on the multiple attempts at take-off
  13. No problem, no need to know yet, we can get into that once the need for it is there. The fact IL2 won't start from the external disk on other computers could very well be due to hardware differences, drivers and settings, like screen resolution. Or are your other computers all of equal hardware and settings?
  14. Oh Carp, I made a mistake calculating the time... 20:00GMT means 21:00 'round here... I'll never be able to finish the event using comms. And that's no good. So, I won't join. Sorry...
  15. Yes, basically, it is.You do not need to install IL2 on a fresh system, a backup-copy restored to a freshly format-windows-install will do fine. (Some IL2 utilities may need registry keys, but those registry keys can easily be recreated if need be.)
  16. Sunday is fine by me!
  17. I'd like to join the fun ...
  18. Mostly left wing extremism, and some right wing extremism...
  19. There's nothing between the 'needs update' drivers that are really relevant with regards to TrackIR. I think. That tool looks cool, so I installed it and ran it. It found some outdated drivers on my system... But, you'll have to buy / register it to use it to download the newer drivers.
  20. Could be fuel vapour causing the explosion...
  21. JP, you can use a trick in Users\Doe\Settings.ini for that. Assign brakes to one pedal, then open up said file (Make sure you pick the correct subfolder under 'users', ie. the one belonging to your default pil2ot) Look for: AXE_RZ JoystickDevice2=rudder AXE_X JoystickDevice2=brakes Where the Device2 can differ, ie. could be Device0 or Device1 or Device3 then add a line: AXE_Y JoystickDevice2=brakes where you use the same Devicex designation as in the original. You also may need to swap X and Y values, depending on what your current settings are... Please note that pressing left or right brake pedal will still just activate brakes, the differential part still only comes from moving the rudder pedals! Also, after editing, either set the 'Read Only' attribute on the Settings.ini file, or never ever enter and leave the in game Controls screen no more, cause doing so will have that extra line you added removed... Alternatively, in CH software, you should be able to combine both pedals to one axis, I think... I hope... Maybe...
  22. Nice one, your settings reflect mine, including the drop down to 10 at the end. (...) Sid, there's no 'drop down to 10' in sensitivity at the end, that's the value for 'Filtering'.The first value on the line is for 'Deadband'. The value second is the first sensitivity setting.
  23. Beautiful!
